Luigi's Mansion is a stage for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All fighters are placed inside a miniaturized version of the mansion from the titular game.

Stage history

The haunted mansion made its first appearance in Luigi's Mansion, where it is the primary location that Luigi wanders around in. In Luigi's Mansion, Luigi had won the mansion in a contest. When he arrived at the mansion, he found out that the mansion was overran by ghosts. He meets up with Professor E. Gadd, who tells Luigi that the Boos created the creepy mansion and also released all the portrait ghost from his gallery. Luigi also finds out that Mario is held captive inside the mansion by King Boo. Luigi, with the help of the Poltergust 3000, sweeps up all the portrait ghost in the mansion and manages to defeat King Boo. After Luigi resues Mario, the mansion dissapears and Luigi instead purchases a new mansion with all the treasure and money collected in the haunted one.

Luigi's Mansion has also appeared in a few Mario sports titles. In Mario Kart DS, Luigi's mansion appears as a track that the racers can drive on. Luigi's Mansion also appears as a tennis court in Mario Power Tennis.

In the Super Smash Brothers series

Luigi's mansion appears as an unlockable stage in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. In this game, the characters battle on the downsized version of the mansion that appeared in Luigi's Mansion. The mansions interior rooms will be visible when the characters pass through the mansion's exterior walls. By attacking the support pillars, the mansion crumbles section by section until it's all gone. But due to its supernatural origins, it will rebuild itself back to its original status.

Luigi's Mansion can be unlocked by playing as Luigi in three brawls.

Trivia

  • When you break a section of the stage, Boos appear a for a split second.
  • This should really only be Luigi's homestage since none of the other characters were mentioned in the game. (Bowser was just King Boo in a costume.) (Peach was only mentioned once.) (Mario was captured and not seen for a majority of the time.) (Luigi was there every second of the game.)
  • When all of the fighters are outside of the mansion, the mansion's exterior is shown.
