The Nintendo DS (sometimes abbreviated NDS or DS) is a handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo, which was released in November 2004. It is notable for having two screens, one of them being a touch screen, which many games for it make use of. Since its release, the DS has been remade twice in the forms of the DS Lite and the DSi.
Nintendo DS Lite
The Nintendo DS Lite is the second iteration of the Nintendo DS, released in Japan on March 2, 2006, in Austrailia on June 1, in North America on June 11, and in Europe on June 23. By March, 2008,
Differences between the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DS Lite
1. Smaller and slimmer. 2. LCD screens are brighter. 3. Longer battery life (5-8 hours at max brightness, 14-19 at lowest brightness), quicker recharge time. 4. More colors available.
Nintendo DSi
The Nintendo DSi is a new version of the original Nintendo DS Lite. The DSi was released on November 1, 2008 in Japan, April 2, 2009 in Austrailia, April 3 in Europe, and April 5 in North America. It features two cameras, one at the front screen, and one at the back. It doesen't, however, feature a slot for the GBA cartridge, as one of it's few down sides. It does have a slot where you can insert an SD card and share pictures with others via Wi-Fi connection.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
The Craptendo DS itself is represented in Crappy. Brawl through the PictoChat stage. PictoChat is a feature on the Nintendo DS in which players can poke each others eyesout by just a tap on the on the touch screen.
