The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

The Rules is an option in Super Smash Bros. Brawl that was confirmed in the Rotation update. It lets you select the rules for a match before the fight itself.
Rules
Rules: consist of picking what kind of play.
Handicap: Sets Damage Percentage at the beginning of the match. Can set to:
- On
- Off
- Auto (depending on which player wins or loses)
Damage Ratio: sets how much knockback is received from attacks. The default ratio is 1.0. The higher the number, the further the player will go. You can choose the ratio from .5 to 2.0.
Stage Choice: Allows the player to adjust on how the stage will be decided.
- Choose - Allow freely to pick a stage
- Random - Stage choice will be picked randomly
- Turns - Take turns start with Player 1 and so on
- Ordered - Play Stages in order
- Loser's Pick - The loser of the match gets to decide to pick the next stage
Items: Allows what Items can be in the match or not, and adjust how often an item will appear. The player can set how often an item appears by picking the choices; None, Low, Medium, or High.
More Rules
Another section of rules is the More Rules section which can only be unlocked by getting 200 KOs in a standard brawl match.
Stock Time Limit: sets the amount of time for a stock-time match. The time can be set to Infinite to 99:00.
Friendly Fire: allows team attack On or Off.
Pause: allows the Pause availability On or Off.
Score Display: show scores on the screen. Can be turned Off or On.
Damage Gauge: shows the Damage Percentage of each player. Can be turned On or Off.
Random Stage Switch: allow or eliminate what stages can be chosen when you pick Random.
