Myself

Hello, I am a longtime gamer and Nintendo fan who is happy to help out on the wiki. While I don't especially care about the competitive side of Smash, I love the series for its crossover nature and am excited to contribute information wherever I can regarding Smash's representation of the various series, especially those in which I am most interested and knowledgeable. My favorite game genres are 2D platformers and (J)RPGs, and my favorite game character is Luigi, who is also my main in every Smash game.

Experience with Fighter-Contributing Series

  • Super Mario Bros.: Love it. Played all the main series games and many of the spinoffs (especially Kart, Paper, Tennis, and Golf), and my absolute favorite video game character is Luigi, so I play as him whenever I can.
  • Donkey Kong: Played DK and DK Jr., DK '94, as well as DKC, DKC Returns, and DKC Tropical Freeze. I enjoy it but not as much as Mario.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tried the original, 2, Link to the Past, Ocarina, and Link Between Worlds, but couldn't really get into any of those. However, I loved Breath of the Wild (and Age of Calamity) and am looking forward to Tears of the Kingdom.
  • Metroid: Only played the 2D ones (all of them but Fusion), but I think they're great, especially Zero Mission, Samus Returns, Super, and Dread.
  • Yoshi: Played a bit of Yoshi's Island and also finished Yoshi's Story. Pretty good, but not as good as Mario.
  • Kirby: Fantastic series in every respect. I've played all the main series games (and finished all but the Dark Matter trilogy games). My favorites are those in the style of Super Star, plus Forgotten Land, and my absolute favorite game is Planet Robobot.
  • Star Fox: I've played every game in it (even 2), and I enjoy all of them except 2 and Adventures. My favorites are 64 (3D), Assault, and Zero.
  • Pokémon: I like this series a lot. I started with SoulSilver and still have a soft spot for Johto, but I've played all the main series games except RSE (I have played ORAS though), and I find I’m less negative about games like SwSh and BDSP compared to many others.
  • F-Zero: I've played all the console games, plus AX through emulation, as well as GP Legend. GX is my favorite, but I think X might have the best soundtrack. They’re all really good though and I hope it comes back some day.
  • Earthbound: I played a bit of Earthbound on the SNES Classic, It didn't quite click with me, but I hope to maybe have a chance to sit back down with it and give it another go.
  • Ice Climber: I've played the game a few times but I just can't enjoy it due to the pitiful jump arc. It's not a good game, and I doubt there will be a sequel.
  • Fire Emblem: I only got into it relatively recently, but I quite enjoyed Awakening and I really enjoyed Three Houses (plus Three Hopes) and Engage. I tried Shadow Dragon on Switch but it was a bit too dated to enjoy. Overall, I’m looking forward to future games.
  • Game & Watch: I actually own several Game & Watch handhelds, and I enjoy them all, as games and as pieces of gaming history. I've also played all 4 Game & Watch Gallery games. While the games are generally primitive, they have a lot of charm, especially Donkey Kong, Climber, and Gold Cliff.
  • Kid Icarus: I enjoy the original in spite of the frustration, and the Game Boy sequel is okay. Uprising, though, is just amazing, even as a left-handed player. I wonder if it will ever get a sequel.
  • Wario: I’ve played Wario Land 1 and 3, and I think they’re alright but not as good as Mario games. I do hope to have a chance to try Shake It! some day, though. As for WarioWare, I haven’t really played any of them, but I am somewhat interested in getting Gold for 3DS, if only for all the Nintendo Classics microgames.
  • Metal Gear: I've never played a Metal Gear game, but I hope to get around to it some day.
  • Sonic: I've played the original, and I thought it was alright, but I find it less enjoyable than Super Mario. Still, I know I should find time to try the second game and some of the other early 2D titles.
  • Pikmin: Never played a Pikmin game, and I'm don't particularly plan to, but anything’s possible I suppose.
  • R.O.B. I don't have a R.O.B., and I've never played Gyromite nor Stack-Up. I have played Mario Kart DS, but I never actually unlocked R.O.B. there.
  • Animal Crossing: Played New Horizons for a couple months in 2020 and I enjoyed it, but it's not really the type of game I like, so I'm not sure if I'd play any others.
  • Mega Man: I've played the first and second games and I’ve beaten Mega Man 11 and Mega Man X. I enjoy the games, but they're not my favorite action platforms. I haven't tried 3-6 or X2-X4 or the Zero and ZX games yet, but I have them through the Legacy Collections so I should do so some time.
  • Wii Fit: I had a lot of fun with Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, but I never got Wii Fit U, and I haven't played these games in a long time.
  • Punch-Out!!: I couldn't get into the Arcade originals or Super on SNES, but I love the NES version and especially the Wii version (as well as the WiiWare Doc Louis version). I hope a new one will come eventually.
  • Pac-Man: I've played the original game and Ms. Pac-Man. They're solid arcade games, but I haven't played any other Pac-Man games and don't really plan to.
  • Xenoblade Chronicles: I started on the series late but I really love the original (I played the Switch port), 2, and 3. The music, stories, characters, and worlds are consistently great, and I look forward to whatever comes next.
  • Duck Hunt: I've never played it, but I do have the combo cart with SMB. I might play it some day but I don't especially care to.
  • Street Fighter: I've played Champion Edition for SNES (on the Classic Edition), but that's it. I'm just not good at this sort of game, and so while I respect the series a lot, I don't think it's for me.
  • Final Fantasy: I've played 1 (both NES and GBA), 3, 5, 7, and 9, and of those I've finished 1 and 7. I like this series quite a bit and hope to play more. I do also have access to 2 and 6, and I'm planning to get the Pixel Remasters on Switch so I can enjoy some of 1-6 that way.
  • Bayonetta: Haven't played either game. It looks like it may be fun but I'm not especially inclined to try it.
  • Splatoon: Haven't played either game, and it seems cool but not really my thing.
  • Castlevania: I only got into it because of Smash, but I'm a huge fan. I've played 1, 2, The Adventure, 3, Belmont's Revenge, Super 4, Rondo, Bloodlines, Dracula X, SotN, CotM, HoD, AoS, DoS, PoR, OoE, and also Kid Dracula, and of those I've beaten 1, Rondo, Dracula X, SotN, CotM, AoS, DoS, and PoR. The gameplay and music of the series are superb, and I hope to finally beat Dracula in OoE.
  • Persona: Never played any of them, but they seem interesting, and I might try one of P3-5 now that they’re on Switch.
  • Dragon Quest: Could be interesting, but never tried any so far.
  • Banjo-Kazooie: I've heard good things about it but I've yet to try this series. Maybe someday.
  • Fatal Fury: Both Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters seem cool, but just as with Street Fighter, it's really not my thing, so I'm content with appreciating it from afar.
  • ARMS: Seems like a really creative game, and the music is great, but I doubt I'd get enough enjoyment out of it for it to be worth getting so I've only played a bit of the demo and that's it.
  • Minecraft: I think I played it once when it was new but it's just not my kind of game.
  • Tekken: Most of them are on systems I don't have, and while they seem neat, it's not for me and so I doubt I'd ever play one.
  • Kingdom Hearts: I think I might enjoy these games but I've never had a chance to try them. If they came out on Switch through a means other than the cloud, I might have gotten one.
