Set Count: 2-1 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate regional tournament held in Leander, Texas on January 7th, 2023. Ultimate singles had a $1,000 prize pool with $150 added for every 10 entrants after 64 entrants was reached, plus $300 payout to the Intermediate Bracket Top 4 and $200 payout to the Redemption Bracket Top 4. Ultimate singles was a qualifier for Texas Reverie 2023 and was capped at 192 entrants.[1] There was also a 5v5 Melee crew battle between Team Austin and Houston, which Team Austin won. Set Count: 2-1 is the largest Smash Bros. tournament at an Esports Cave's location, and the first after it stopped Ultimate weeklies. The tournament also had brackets for Tekken 7, Guilty Gear: Strive, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st], The King of Fighters XV, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Street Fighter V, and Melty Blood: Type Lumina.

Melee singles had a Gauntlet phase before Top 24 and a double-elimination Redemption Bracket, and Ultimate singles had a Redemption Bracket and an Intermediate Bracket, both single-elimination. In Melee, 1st place in each round robin pool advanced directly to Top 24, 2nd-4th place advanced to the Gauntlet phase, and 5th-6th was eligible for the Redemption Bracket. 1st in each pool of the Gauntlet phase advanced to Top 24, and 2nd-3rd were eligible for the Redemption Bracket. Players seeded to not make it out of pools and were eliminated in Losers' Round 1 or 2 were eligible for the Ultimate Redemption Bracket. Players seeded to not make payout and lose the match to make it out of pools or the first match out of pools were eligible for the Intermediate Bracket. For Ultimate, $2 of the entry fee went to Redemption Bracket, $3 went to Intermediate Bracket, and $15 went to the regular singles bracket.
