Talk:Limit Charge / Finishing Touch
Counterable
So if Finishing Touch can be shielded or armored, is it possible to counter it as well? Shadow (talk) 18:01, 19 December 2015 (EST)
- Anything that can be shielded can be countered as well. DracoRex the Dino King (RAWR!) 18:40, 19 December 2015 (EST)
Different Pages
Finishing Touch is 100% a different move than Limit Charge, they should have separate pages. 68.39.111.139 10:35, 23 December 2015 (EST)
- Doesn't matter, they're both a down special. Aidan, the Jolly Space Warrior 10:55, 23 December 2015 (EST)
- Okay, how does that mean they should be on the same page? It's not called "Cloud's Down Special". It's supposed to be about Limit Charge, and Finishing Touch is something completely different. Having the same slot doesn't mean the moves are the same. 68.39.111.139 08:01, 27 December 2015 (EST)
- See Shin Shoryuken/Shinku Hadoken and Landmaster. Also, following that sense, then every level of Robin's Thunder is a completely different projectile, and hence should be categorized in a separate page. That would also put Bonus Fruit in the same category. Obviously we do not do this because each different attack that is categorized with the same button input should be placed in the same page for easier reference, either that or because individual pages for each different attack would create unnecessary and short pages that can be condensed into a larger, more concise page. KO percentages
This video shows when Cloud's Finishing Touch starts KO'ing each currently available character (along with each of Shulk's states), in ascending percentage order. Should we incorporate a table with this info somewhere? Berrenta (talk) 00:17, 28 December 2015 (EST)
- I don't see why not. More info is better. 98.157.202.185 00:23, 28 December 2015 (EST)
Move
I support moving this article to "Limit Charge / Finishing Touch." The two moves, although being part of the same down special, are completely different from one another. I feel like this alone is enough justification to list both in this page's title. Acgamer28 17:17, June 25, 2020 (EDT)
Support. Finishing Touch is completely different in every way, it's just common sense. --Plague von Karma 13:24, June 28, 2020 (EDT)
Support. These moves are absolutely and totally different from one another. Your Senpai, Iron Warrior 16:04, August 21, 2020 (EDT)
- I also am in support. Mostly for the above reasons, but also because even the in-game Move List displays it as such. Thecontributor22 (talk) 08:32, August 26, 2020 (EDT)
Split the Limit mechanic
- I Support the Limit mechanic being separate from the move page. I also made a draft for the page Thegameandwatch The Nerd 20:11, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
- I'm against splitting the article. My reasoning is that A) The moves are listed together in the Move List, and B) Bayonetta's side special (Heel Slide / After Burner Kick) shares the same SmashWiki article as each other, despite functioning slightly differently. The same can be said for each of the variations of Hero's special moves. -- User:TomLegend101 07:53, August 6, 2022 (EDT)
- The splitting is about the Limit mechanic not Limit Charge which just charging the limit bar. Thegameandwatch The Nerd 04:25, September 24, 2022 (EDT)
- Support, I think Tom thought you were after splitting Limit Charge / Finishing Touch because of the title, but you're talking about splitting the Limit gauge from the down special. Derekblue1 (talk) 01:13, December 1, 2022 (EST)
- Support, pretty clear cut, the mechanic deserves its own page. Unnamed anon (talk) 22:38, December 8, 2022 (EST)
