This may seem unrelated but maybe there should be a B0XX page? Or better yet, since there seems to be plenty of Smash-related fightsticks coming out, perhaps a page dedicated to discussing all of them instead of this one page. --Hardboned (talk) 09:26, February 23, 2021 (EST)

There is, but it's rather out of date. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 09:29, February 23, 2021 (EST)

Move request

Im unsure what to name it too but I believe the Smash Box is too niche. That said, since guys like Leffen and Hax are using things like Frame1, and B0XX, I think they're significant enough to the scene to just warrant one whole page. --Hardboned (talk) 22:01, March 9, 2021 (EST)

What is the point of this comment. Superbound (talk) 07:02, March 10, 2021 (EST)

Support. No real reason to not go this route. The only question is what do we call such controllers? Señor Mexicano (talk) 10:23, March 10, 2021 (EST)

Perhaps something like "Box-type controllers" would work? That's the description used on Frame1's about section. Señor Mexicano (talk) 10:26, March 10, 2021 (EST)

I think Box-type controllers works --Hardboned (talk) 14:34, March 10, 2021 (EST)

Support. This would also give a chance to explain the benefits and drawbacks to using these types of controllers in more detail, as well as their origins, which I'd happily provide. There's a large amount of tech that's only really doable on these controllers, such as charge partitioning and a really weird alternative to Falcon's turnaround. I do, however, strongly disagree with the proposal for "Box-type controllers", that term isn't really in active use and nor is it particularly accurate. From a broad gaming perspective, "Arcade controller" is long and far the standard and would be the easiest for users to find. This is used by companies, media outlets, and more. "Fightstick" is a fine name as-is though, as it's more in-tune with FGC terminology. --PlagueSigImage.pngPlague von KarmaPlagueSigImage.png 08:39, March 17, 2021 (EDT)

I'll second Plague's input. I've also heard "arcade stick" being used (or just "stick"). --CanvasK (talk) 09:23, March 17, 2021 (EDT)

Agree on using "arcade controller" as the page title. Rdrfc (talk) 09:24, March 17, 2021 (EDT)

"Arcade controller" sounds good. Señor Mexicano (talk) 02:01, March 18, 2021 (EDT)

I think "Arcade controller" works --Hardboned (talk) 11:59, March 28, 2021 (EDT)

I also think the controllers that should be covered for now should be the Smash Box due to it being the controller to essentially start the trend, B0XX since its popular, and Frame1 since its popular. The Smash Stick could also get one since it has a joystick instead of buttons for moving. --Hardboned (talk) 12:05, March 28, 2021 (EDT)
I don't think it prevents us from covering them but it should be noted that aside from the Smash Box all these fightsticks are still prototypes that have at most been available only for early access. --Rdrfc (talk) 05:26, March 29, 2021 (EDT)
I think just adding in ones that become more popular make sense, kind of like how the page for mods usually only adds in mods that get popular. --Hardboned (talk) 16:51, March 31, 2021 (EDT)

I've produced a userpage that can be mainspaced should this move go through. Took a while to document everything, but it was worth it! --PlagueSigImage.pngPlague von KarmaPlagueSigImage.png 10:07, June 5, 2021 (EDT)

The new page is pretty good, let's get it mainspaced. --Rdrfc (talk) 10:37, June 5, 2021 (EDT)

Serpent King approved the move, case closed I believe? --PlagueSigImage.pngPlague von KarmaPlagueSigImage.png 10:46, June 5, 2021 (EDT)

Notable players

I think a section on notable players could be a good idea for this page (Swift, Hax, Pipsqueak). You could do this for other controllers as well such as Pro Controllers and Wii Remotes too but this one seems more important. --Hardboned (talk) 16:28, February 23, 2022 (EST)
