Goron (disambiguation)
Gorons are a species of creatures that appear throughout The Legend of Zelda series, starting with Ocarina of Time. There are trophies for Gorons in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Their body composition is rocklike, making them very powerful and durable. They also eat rocks and other minerals, so they inhabit mountainous areas to consume these rocks and minerals.
Roles of Gorons in Legend of Zelda Games
In the Ocarina of Time, Link has to assist the Gorons by removing Dodongos from their cave. The Dodongos were sent by Ganondorf in an attempt to get the Gorons to give up their sacred stone, the Goron's Ruby.
In The Wind Waker, Gorons do not have a role in the storyline. However, there are several Goron traveling merchants that are part of an optional sidequest in the game.
In The Phantom Hourglass, the Gorons ask Link several questions to gain their trust, allowing Link to become a Goron brother and access the Goron Temple.
In The Twilight Princess, Link must help the Gorons save their leader, who was transformed into a monster.
In The Spirit Tracks, Link must assist the Gorons by bringing ice to their village in order to remove fountains of lava spewing from the ground. In doing so, Link is shown the way to the Fire Temple.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Trophy Description
Trophy #098
"Most Gorons inhabit the stony slopes of Death Mountain. They can achieve incredible land speeds by curling up into balls and rolling: they also curl up into small balls to sleep. They're a gentle and calm people, but their leader, Darunia, is impassioned and brave. Gorons use strong and dexterous fingers to make blades and bombs."
Game: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Trophy Description
A proud guardian of Death Mountain. Entering without gaining the trust of the Gorons will earn you a rolling-rock attack. They like sumo wrestling, as seen in Twilight Princess, when you need to wrestle Gor Coron. The complete shift to a friendly attitude by the tribal chief after being rescued suggests a prudent side to the Gorons.
