Blazing End (ブレイズエンド, Blaze End) is Pyra's side special move in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Overview
When used, Pyra throws the Aegis Sword forward like a boomerang. The sword then spins in a vertical circular motion, hitting multiple times, before returning back to Pyra. Tapping the control stick increases the range of the attack. The sword does not have an hitbox while returning to Pyra.
While the Aegis Sword is out of Pyra's hands, Pyra can move about freely but will be unable to attack, grab, switch to Mythra, pick up or use item attacks or taunt. However she can still and jump, shield, roll and dodge. If used offstage Pyra will not be able to use Prominence Revolt for the duration of the move, leaving her with jump and air dodge as recovery options. The sword acts as a projectile and thus can be reflected and pocketed when thrown. Once the sword begins spinning in it is no longer considered a projectile. If unable to return to Pyra for some reason such as being pocketed, another Aegis Sword will appear in Pyra's hand to maintain her moveset; a pocketed Aegis Sword can be used for one use of Blazing End before disappearing.
When catching the sword as it returns, Pyra is put in a 14 frames long regrab animation. This animation can be canceled by performing another animation such as shield, dodge, roll, jumpsquat or even footstool. The latter is very useful as it allows Blazing End to be used to set up jab locks. If thrown too close to a wall, the sword will bounce back to Pyra without activating its spinning phase. This can be useful when close to the ledge, it allows Pyra to quickly regain her sword while still producing a hitbox.

Origin
Blazing End is Pyra's Level 3 Special in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. In the original game, the move had an additional swing from Pyra and stab in the air before transitioning into the spinning, both of which are absent in Smash.
