What should I put in my user page ?

Please tell me what you think I should put in my user page. YoshiRyu (talk) 06:09, 3 March 2019 (EST)

Tank & Infantry Spirit Battle

Hi. I did remember seeing that battle once at some point but seems like it was only during the Event "The more the better" or something like that. Right now I screenshot every single Spirit Battle and that is the only one that never appeared. Even tried releasing that specific spirit and it never appeared. Either it was available at that time and now is bugged but then it makes it not appear in the Spirit Board currently. What should we do in this case? Shall we vote somewhere? GamblerMario (talk) 19:47, March 13, 2019 (EDT)

I don't think there is any battle that is restricted to an event, I think you've just been unlucky with that particular spirit. I can't tell for sure that I saw it outside of the event cause I don't remember, but I'm actually trying to screenshot every spirit battle as well and I can tell you that while I saw some of them popping quite a lot, I'm still missing two of them: Metal Mario and The Skull. So I'm pretty sure it's just an issue with the random aspect of the spirit battles. I have a hard time to make these two pop, and you have a hard time to make Tank & Infantry pop. I honestly don't see the developpers designing a spirit battle with the intend to make it appear only during one event. YoshiRyu (talk) 20:10, March 13, 2019 (EDT)
Also, if it ever does turn out to be true that some of the spirit battles appear only during events, I think you should simply use the yellow smash icon as "available in the spirit board under specific circonstances", and that icon could also be used for the spirit battles that are available only once you get the spirit through summoning/purchasing/challenge. YoshiRyu (talk) 20:16, March 13, 2019 (EDT)
I have Metal Mario and the Skull, are you going to upload them?
I did that with two intend : checking if the spirit battle data are right, and eventually uploading the pictures, but I was still uncertain about the second point, as it represent a lot of data to upload on the wiki, so I was planning to start a conversation about it once I got them all, before uploading them. YoshiRyu (talk) 20:42, March 13, 2019 (EDT)

I tried this way: I released 3 spirits in the same category: T&I, Jenna (available from Anna's Emporium) and Flies & Hand (available from Beedle's Tent). The spirit board is programmed in such a way that it gives priority to the spirits you currently don't posses, either because you never got it or because you dismissed it. From the 15 rotations I experienced, Jenna appeared in 9 and Flies & Hand appeared in 7, Tanks never appeared once. Going through the list of event spirits it seems this is the only case out there, none other spirits used in events come from shopping. I'm guessing it's either glitched or was temporary. GamblerMario (talk) 20:29, March 13, 2019 (EDT)

I didn't even know that the spirit board is more likely to show you spirits you don't own, I have an instance of every single one. I spent a lot of time in the spirit board because I wanted to be sure I fought and won every single battle the game had to offer, yet I didn't notice that pattern (but it makes sense). So, I don't know, maybe it's a bug indeed, because we know there are battles that do exist in WoL but never show up in the spirit board, so maybe this particular one has been tagged "WoL only" to never appear in the spirit board by error... I will keep an eye open for T&I spirit battle while chasing Metal Mario and The Skull. YoshiRyu (talk) 20:42, March 13, 2019 (EDT)
Try it out, dismiss those spirits and they'll appear shortly enough :D GamblerMario (talk) 20:59, March 13, 2019 (EDT)

Now hold on a moment

What is the purpose of these "spirit battle preview" images you're uploading? They don't contain any information that the current tables lack. Having a few as examples I understand, but certainly not more than that. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Dispenser 06:36, April 2, 2019 (EDT)

Hello I would like you to respond to this message before continuing. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Awesome 06:41, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
Look I didn't ask this question out of curiosity, I asked because I want a reason for us to host all these large images. So now you're blocked until you explain. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Steppin' 06:46, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
Hi, I didn't see this talk before being blocked, I was in "chain factory mode". I'm uploading these previews to link them in the spirit battles arrays. I've seen user deleting lines or arguing back and forth over the validity of the data since I've splitted the spirits battles from the spirits stats, therefore I took time to screenshot each battle spirit preview so no one would need to argue again about that. I used a 1280x720 resolution with a jpg format, I thought this would be light enough. YoshiRyu (talk) 06:52, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
Okay I can understand your viewpoint but it's not necessary. We don't need to have images uploaded to prove the facts; if someone keeps altering correct data, just revert and move on, and report if it becomes a problem. In the absolute worst case, and you're desperate to provide hard proof, you can upload simgle images to another site like imgur; it doesn't need to be on-wiki to be a valid screenshot. (Block removed.) Toomai Glittershine ??? The Emissary 06:57, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
Fine. It's a bit sad to get that after the time I spent tracking every single spirit battle preview, but if things ever change about that, do not hesitate to ask me, I've got all of them. YoshiRyu (talk) 07:03, April 2, 2019 (EDT)
Oh, and just so you know, the whole pack weight 127 MB. YoshiRyu (talk) 07:05, April 2, 2019 (EDT)

Regarding this edit summary

I feel the need to question your attitude here. While it’s true that non-admins are not necessarily the final arbiter on what is and isn’t allowed to be written on wiki pages, the same is true for admins. To say “I’m not listening to you because you’re not an admin” is an extremely poor attitude to have. If you have arguments about content, that’s what talk pages are for. Please keep this in mind before you get abusive with other people. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:30, December 11, 2020 (EST)

Not what happenned here:
  • Someone removed the trivia about FF not having spirit. I put it back saying it's still relevant and will always be, and that we should simply add bit of context (and therefore did so because I'm fine with adding that context now, we know FF spirits are coming to the game).
  • Someone else then removed the whole trivia again stating that the context of spirit coming alongside Sephiroth was speculative (which is not, the DLC spirit board is pretty transparent), so I put back the original trivia with the context in a comment (because honestly, I don't care if we put the context now or later, I was only compromising with both of them) adding that if we don't speculate, then, currently, FF still has no extra spirits.
  • After the first person tried to remove the whole trivia because "future spirits", and the second person tried to remove it again because "speculative addition", a third person decided to comment the whole trivia section, and that's the one I told "you're not a moderator" when undoing his edit: It was not about not listening to me, it was about suddently pseudo-locking a whole section.
There was no need to go to the talk page here because it was 3 separate disagrements with 3 separate persons, and none of them argued back with me. At the end of the day, the current version is pretty much the one I pushed at the begining: keeping the "no spirit" trivia, but adding a bit of context "in the base game". YoshiRyu (talk) 04:23, December 12, 2020 (EST)
I'm gonna have to agree with BV that your tone in the edit summary was too aggressive and not appropriate. Just because three people made a change you reverted does not mean they all read your previous edit summaries. Yes I do agree with your reasoning for the trivia points but that's no excuse for your tone with the users in question. Thegameandwatch was not remotely even acting like a moderator, and after their edit it would've been smarter for you to take it to the talk page rather than have an attitude. Please take this advice and do not show this behavior again. Omegɑ Toɑd For my signature. 05:31, December 12, 2020 (EST)
I Disagree. Hidding the whole trivia section because people are disagreeing on how to edit a single entry is certainly acting as a moderator. A regular user should not be allowed to hide a whole section, that's an unreasonable edit. As for me having a poor attitude or being agressive, maybe you should stop over-reading into my edit summaries, I only said "you're not a moderator", I didn't call anyone names. YoshiRyu (talk) 06:30, December 12, 2020 (EST)
I was not accusing you of calling people names. I merely said (and still say) that refusing to listen to people just because they're not moderators (even acting like it), is a dreadful attitude to have. It matters not how strongly you feel about the circumstances surrounding your revert, or how right you think you are (as it is, I would want to discuss the matter on a talk page somewhere first), the wiki is a joint effort, and as such, behaving in such an overtly aggressive matter is definitely not on. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 07:39, December 12, 2020 (EST)
Yet again, not what happened: The "moderator" comment was only about the initiative to hide a whole trivia section, nothing to do with the people who disagreed with me prior to that edit, nothing to do with refusing to listen to people, not only I didn't refuse to listen to people, but I actually factored in their inputs: When the first edit was made, I put the trivia back with context as a compromise between removing the trivia and letting it as it was, when the second edit was made, I put the trivia back again with the context again, but this time hidden in a comment as another compromise between removing the trivia and adding a context that is not relevant yet. How can you tell me that I didn't listen when it litterally went "no spirit" then "no spirit in the base game" and then "no spirit<!- in the base game->"? The only thing I pointed out as "moderating" was hiding the whole trivia section, not the prior edits. "Refusing to listen to people just because they're not moderators", that did not happen. YoshiRyu (talk) 08:10, December 12, 2020 (EST)
In fact, I have more to say about that. Look at this from a fresh perspective: Someone hid a whole section. I reverted it with the summary "you're not a moderator". That's it. And the two of you have described that as not only "not listening", but also as "an extremely poor attitude", "abusive", and "agressive"... Reading that, it sounds like I got into a fistfight... Yeah, you're right, you didn't tell me I called them names, but your surely scolding me as if I did. Abusive? Seriously? It's a bit excessive, don't you think? Why is that that you read "you're not a moderator" as "shut the fuck up", do I sound like someone who put subtext in my sentences? YoshiRyu (talk) 08:49, December 12, 2020 (EST)
Removing an entire trivia section (although that wording is misleading given how short it was) is perfectly valid if none of the listed trivia is appropriate. If you disagreed with that assessment of the trivia, the correct courses of action are A: to undo or partially undo the edit with an explanation, or B: to raise the issue on the talk page. Belittling other users because they are not moderators is not an appropriate course of action, as in this case it is completely irrelevant, and getting aggressive in the summary is always a no no. Language like "for fuck sake people, stop changing this page" can come across as an attack to the people who are editing the page in question, not to mention that you don't get to control how frequently an article gets edited, ESPECIALLY during a period of high traffic. Alex the Weeb 08:57, December 12, 2020 (EST)
  • They did not remove the entire trivia section, they hid it. This is why I'm 100% this person was trying to "moderate" what they (wrongfully) saw as an edit war.
  • Telling someone that they're not a moderator is not belittling them. I'm not a moderator either, i'm flabbergasted that you can think that I would be belittling another user by pointing out they're not moderator.
  • As for partially undo the edit, I didn't see there was other things in that edit before after someone else put those back. The summary only said "its better to hide the Trivia until Sephiroth is released". Had I seen that right away, I would have only removed the comment tags instead of clicking "undo".
  • You're misrepresenting the "ffs" part as being a thing on its own (not willingly, I know, don't get defensive), it wasn't, it was followed by an explanation. I didn't ask people to never edit this page again, I specifically asked to stop removing that particular trivia point.
And now I'm starting to get quite annoyed, you know why? Because the three of you are here telling me that people could feel attacked, all the while calling me abusive, agressive, telling me that I have an extremely poor attitude, and other stuffs... How do you think I feel about that? Attacked, that's how. You could have been "be careful, you're being rude, people might feel attacked", but no, you directly went all out... Why "extremely poor attitude", did you think "poor attitude" wouldn't be enough? Do I really deserve to be called "abusive" for that. Don't worry, I won't take it personally, I know you're only trying to defuse a situation, but I'm telling you all, and I hope you'll get that this time, that there is nothing to defuse here, and that maybe you should consider that, when you call someone out on their talk page, you should not be "stop being an asshole" right away (and please, don't answer that by telling me you didn't tell me I'm a asshole, I know you didn't, I'm just showing you how it feels). Now we can keep going back and forth about that, but I don't really feel like you're even listening to what I'm saying (or we can just call it a day, because so far, this is honnestly going nowhere).
