Clone

Clone characters are characters that have nearly identical movesets with slight variations in the attacks. They are much easier to include in a game than original characters, as the designers need only to create the character's model, then add the original character's attacks and modify them slightly.

Clones in SSBM

• Mario & Dr. Mario (Many of Luigi's moves are similar to Mario and Dr. Mario's, but some, such as Green Missile, are completely seperate. These similarities have earned the concept the name "Luigification" and lead some to consider Luigi a "semi-clone.")

• Pikachu & Pichu
• Captain Falcon & Ganondorf & Male Fighting Wire Frame
• Marth & Roy
• Link & Young Link
• Zelda & Female Fighting Wire Frane
• Bowser & Giga Bowser

Clones in SSBB

No clones were in Brawl. All the returning clones from Melee got Luigificationed and so did the ones similar to other fighters.

Replacement

Replacement is a newcomer that had a similar moveset or play style to that of a previous playable character in SSBM, but the previous character doesn't return in Brawl. The replacements also are in the same universe as its predecessor.
