Format
The Slippi Champions League follows a different format than normal competitive play. Each week there are 2 Divisions, each with 8 players. For the first week of the season, the 16 players competing are invited, while in subsequent weeks players are invited through their performance from the previous week.
In Division 1, 8 players play in a single elimination bracket. The top 4 players remain in the division while the bottom 4 are dropped into Division 1 Relegation. In Division 2, 4 matches are played between the 8 players. The winners of each match move on to Division 1 Relegation while the losers are dropped into Division 2 Relegation.
In Division 1 Relegation, the four players from Division 1 play the four players from Division 2. The winners of each match moves on to Division 1 for the next week while the losers are moved to Division 2 for the next week. In Division 2 Relegation, the players play in 4 open bracket qualifiers.
