Forum:Cross Series References
I had a question about characters who have references to other characters and series that are apart of Smash. Not direct references to Smash but references to those in Smash. The characters that first come to mind are Rex from Xenoblade, Yuri Kozukata from Fatal Frame, and Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes. For Rex, his outfit appears in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, under the name "Salvager Set", as armor that Link could obtain from the "Collaboration: Xenoblade Chronicles 2" DLC. For Yuri, both Zero Suit Samus and Zelda’s outfits appear as costumes, though Yuri herself only wears ZSS’ outfit. And for Travis, he wears shirts with art from various Legend of Zelda games.
Sonic’s page makes note of his cameo in Wreck-it Ralph as well as content from Yoshi and Zelda appearing in Sonic Lost World. Minecraft also takes note that series like Mario and Banjo have had official texture packs for the game. I know it is a bit different with characters appearing in another’s game as a playable character like Slime with Mario Sports Mix, but Link and Samus’ don’t make note of their physical cameos is Super Mario RPG. (Same goes for some other cameos).
A handful of Trivia pages make note of characters or content from series with other playable fighters’ series. My question is, are these instances able to be mentioned outside of the overview / Trivia of the series’ Universe page? I am primarily asking as the cases with Yuri and Travis some do not seem to think it counts despite being indirectly related and some others do. For the case of Yuri, would it only be able to be noted on Zero Suit Samus’ character page as it is her outfit instead of Yuri’s despite the fact, she is the one who is wearing it?
Can these Cross Series References be included in the Trivia of the character pages? And and circumstances would would allow them to? Wolff (talk) 16:04, October 13, 2020 (EDT)
