T1 is a professional eSports organization based in South Korea and the United States. It was founded in Korea in 2002 as StarCraft: Brood War team Orion by legendary player Lim Yohwan (Boxer), considered to be a forefather of modern E-Sports, and in 2004, it became SK Telecom T1 after its title sponsor, Korean telecommunications giant SK Telecom. The organization also became widely known for its League of Legends success, which includes 3 World Championships (2013, 2015 and 2016).
In February 2019, SKT T1 announced a partnership with Comcast Spectacor, under which the organization would rebrand to T1 (although their League division is competing as SKT T1 through 2019).[1] They also entered Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on April 17th, 2019 by sponsoring ANTi and Larry Lurr.[2][3]
