A Heart Container is an item that will reduce your damage by 100% when you pick it up. It's in all Super Smash Bros. games to date, and was originally from the Zelda series.
In All-Star mode, you must fight every character with only three of these to heal yourself. In this mode, they will heal all of your damage, not just 100%.
