Crownerang is King K. Rool's side special move.
Overview
When used, K. Rool will take off his crown and throw it at opponents. Much like Link's Boomerang, the crown will attempt to return to K. Rool after he throws it. K. Rool is also able to act after he throws the crown. If it does not reach him, then the crown will continue flying off the screen, reappearing on his head after a while.
While off his head, the crown acts as an item, capable of being picked up by anyone.
Origin
King K. Rool's first appearance in Donkey Kong Country had him throw his crown like a boomerang as his main attack. His bare head after throwing the crown was the only time Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong could attack K. Rool.
