The Blunderbuss (パイレーツキャノン, Pirate's Cannon) is a special move used by King K. Rool. He pulls out a blunderbuss and shoots a cannonball forward. King K. Rool can then suck a character (or the cannonball) into the blunderbuss, and spit it back out at a higher angle. King K. Rool aesthetically wears the pirate's hat from his disguise of Kaptain K. Rool while using this attack.
Origin
This attack takes inspiration from the boss fight against K. Rool in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. In the fight, Diddy and Dixie Kong had to avoid cannonballs shot by the king, and grab them and throw them into his blunderbuss when he tried to suck up the Kongs. Doing so would result in the blunderbuss exploding due to clogging up, and damage K. Rool. The explosion is absent from Ultimate, likely due to not wanting the move to inflict damage on the player.
