Position Game Reason Image
10. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (2007) I played a lot of the Guitar Hero games back in around 2007-2009, and they introduced me to some of my favorite bands today, namely Queen and Mötley Crüe. I had over 100 hours logged on this alone. It is, however, the only game on this list to be from a universe not represented by characters in Smash. Image
9. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (2010) I absolutely LOVED the physics in this and the first game, however, the reason it is lower down than the first game is because I believe this is more nostalgic. Image
8. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) One of the most amazing Sonic games, I actually beat the iOS version with all characters and collected all Chaos Emeralds with them, as well. Image
7. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) My very first Zelda game I played back in 2008, I loved the plot as well as the gameplay, and is my second-favorite Zelda game. Image
6. Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001) My first introduction into Super Smash Bros. back in 2007, my brother (12 at the time) showed me (5 at the time), how it worked and how to play it, after about a week, I was hooked and very excited when Brawl came out. Image
5. Super Mario Galaxy (2007) As I mentioned above with SMG2, I loved the physics in this games, and also the music, ESPECIALLY Gusty Garden Galaxy. Image
4. Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) The game that got me really into the Sonic series back in August of 2017, when I bought it on Steam with a gift card for it I got for my birthday. Absolutely loved City Escape and Metal Harbor, not to mention this was the game that introduced my favorite Sonic character, Shadow. Image
3. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011) My second Zelda game, and I loved it so much I've actually beaten it from start to finish three times, once on Hero Mode. Despite people that complain about the motion controls, I actually thought they were pretty fun. Image
2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018) I know, I know, the game isn't out yet, but from I've seen so far, it looks amazing. I literally screamed when I saw Ice Climbers and Snake back, and hell, I even screamed when I saw Young Link back. I already have it preordered and plan on getting it launch day. Image
1. Sonic Unleashed (2008) My favorite game of all time, and I just loved the boosting mechanics as well as the explorable hub worlds. I even liked the top two complaints, the night stages and the medal system. For the night stages, I liked that it turns the familiar speed-based action into a beat-em-up. For the medal system, I liked that it encourages the player to explore any areas they may have missed previously. My only complaint is that this is necessary in the day stages as well, where you're supposed to be going straight ahead and not focusing on exploration. A little side note is that this was the last main-series Sonic game (Sonic and the Black Knight notwithstanding) to feature my favorite English voice actor for Sonic, Jason Griffith. Image
