Hold on

We get that you love Mario, but the tier lists are not something that we make up ourselves - we simply report on them via information from Smash Backroom. If you really think Mario should be at the top of the tier list, take it up with them, rather than making false edits. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the Internets go! :3 04:05, 26 December 2017 (EST) Can you send me a link to the Backroom? Thankshttps://www.ssbwiki.com/User_talk:RatedMforMario 00:40, 20 January 2018 (EST)

Please fix your signature as I have shown you. Also, this is a link to our page on SBR. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 01:05, 20 January 2018 (EST)

I appreciate your enthusiasm

But joke editing articles is not ok and is indeed vandalism. I believe your edits are loosely good faith which is why I haven't blocked you outright yet, but rest assured that this will be your only warning. Thanks Serpent SKSig.png King 21:37, 19 January 2018 (EST)

Serp, thank you for reminding me. Please remember that I will not do it again. RatedMforMarioLet's-a-go!~ 22:18, 19 January 2018 (EST)
I moved this comment from Serp's page to here. As per SW:TALK, three things to keep in mind:
 1. Editing of other people's comments is strictly prohibited, barring special circumstances. You did this to my comment on this page earlier today so I had to mention that.
 2. Replies to comments should be posted on the same talk page they started on, so that they can be tracked correctly.
 3. Remember to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comment. I know you didn't do this because signatures typically contain a link to your userpage and also your talk page. It is a requirement for your signature to have at least one of these, but your comment had neither. If you edited your signature on Special:Preferences, please ensure it still contains either a link to your userpage, or your talk page. Preferably both.
Please ensure you adhere to talk page policies when posting on SmashWiki. Thank you, and have a nice day. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 23:14, 19 January 2018 (EST)
I did add the four tides (Let's-a-go!~ 23:24, 19 January 2018 (EST)) but it somehow doesn't work. Please make sure you saw it correctly. ThanksLet's-a-go!~ 23:24, 19 January 2018 (EST)
Please post comment replies on the SAME PAGE THEY STARTED ON. Anyway, your signature seems to be working, which means that your signature is invalid. Let me suggest a legal signature for you. Copy and paste the following code into the signature box on Special:Preferences and make sure that "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)" is checked.
User:RatedMforMario. Let's-a-go!~

I have checked it. Thanks.https://www.ssbwiki.com/User_talk:RatedMforMario 23:42, 19 January 2018 (EST)
You're not listening to me. Any further replies to this conversation need to be made on THIS page, as this is the page where the conversation started. Also, you STILL have not made your signature correctly. Please follow the steps to correctly make your signature:
 1. Go to Special:Preferences.
 2. In the box labeled 'Signature', paste the following code: User:RatedMforMario. Let's-a-go!~
 3. Make sure 'Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)' is checked.
 4. Go to the bottom of the page and click 'Save'.
If you have anything else to add to the conversation, PLEASE POST ON THIS PAGE. Post on other pages ONLY when discussing a NEW topic. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 00:05, 20 January 2018 (EST)

If you like to do this, that's great. But this should be done on your user page. Not on your talk page. This page is only for others to communicate with you. ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is a never lover boy 01:44, 20 January 2018 (EST)

Policy.png Reminder: Over-editing of the user- and forum-spaces may result in your probation. Consider using the preview button to prevent editing these pages multiple times in a row.

Keep in mind that SmashWiki is NOT a personal profile. You are expected to make some edits to the mainspace. If you only edit your userspace, you may be blocked from editing there until you make some contributions to the mainspace. Please make some edits outside of your userpage to avoid this happening. Thanks! Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 01:59, 20 January 2018 (EST)

Reminder of this - especially important at this time because of the wiki's Yellow Status. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:09, 19 March 2018 (EDT)

SW:1RV

Hi. Please note that if a user reverts your edit for a given reason, please refrain from just re-doing said edit. This is called edit warring, and can be highly counterproductive to the functionality of a wiki. If you feel that a reversion is unjustified, you can take it up with the user who reverted it on their talk page. 9 times out of 10, they will be able to explain why they undid your edit, or some agreement can be met. The reason MHStarCraft undid your edit on the Sonic (SSB4) page is that Sonic has only appeared in 2 smash games, so it is sufficient to simply mention that his placement in SSB4 is an improvement over his Brawl placement.

Otherwise, keep up the good work! Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 09:44, 20 January 2018 (EST)

Reminder of this, you did it again on Mario's page. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:27, 21 January 2018 (EST)

But Mario has been in all Smash games AND he IS the first character to be low tier and then ranked top tier in the sequelRated M... the true Mario fan! 20:57, 21 January 2018 (EST)

That's not the issue we have. You've been making edits that are in breach of SW:TONE - specifically, changing 'a striking improvement' to 'a HUGE improvement' on line 15. Please make sure you read the policies carefully.
Speaking of which, your signature is STILL unacceptable. To quote what administrator Serpent King said to you:
 • SW:SIG: At times you have not used signatures at all, at others your sig hasn't been up to standard. Your signature absolutely must include a link to your talk page and include your username. If you need help with this, comment to this post.
Please rectify this problem as soon as possible, for the administration will not forgive any further mistakes from you. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:12, 21 January 2018 (EST)

Mario disscusion

What do you guys think Mario should be ranked in Brawl? I honestly think that his placement is a little too harsh on him

Don't remove talk page comments

I'm afraid I can't let you delete your post, as it is a violation of SW:TALK. Your post as well as others are to remain on the talk page. MHStarCraft Mega Man X SNES sprite.png 11:39, 20 January 2018 (EST)

Hi

I am going to suggest a thorough and immediate reading of several policies because you have continued to break them since you've started here:

 • SW:TALK: You are not to alter or delete comments, be them your own or not, ever. Also talk pages are for meaningful discussions about this wiki's operation, not for idle discussion about which character is better than the other or etc. For that, use the discord channel.
 • SW:SIG: At times you have not used signatures at all, at others your sig hasn't been up to standard. Your signature absolutely must include a link to your talk page and include your username. If you need help with this, comment to this post.
 • SW:PROB: SmashWiki is not a personal profile, and as such, we expect you to edit outside of the userspace. Failure to do so will result in your probation, this is your official warning.
 • SW:VANDAL: which I have already covered with you.

Please read these and learn or I will be forced to take action. Thank you. Serpent SKSig.png King 18:14, 20 January 2018 (EST)

You get one last warning. Fail to heed it and be blocked. Serpent SKSig.png King 17:18, 26 March 2018 (EDT)
Not trying to question your authority but what have I vandalized now? User:RatedMforMario. Let's-a-go!~ 14:05, 27 March 2018 (EDT)
You continue to ignore SW:TALK. Talk pages are not for random smash discussion, that's what the discord is for. The talk pages are strictly for discussions of SmashWiki's operation. Serpent SKSig.png King 18:19, 27 March 2018 (EDT)

Edit summaries and edit warring

Policy.png Reminder: There is a policy in place that prohibits multiple reversions of the same edit. Please refrain from reverting or repeating an edit that has already been undone. Instead, bring the subject up on the article's associated talk page.

A lot of your edits are getting reverted, but you keep redoing some of them (particularly on the Sonic pages). First off, it is an offence to edit war. Post messages on the talk page of an article if you disagree with a reversion. Second, people who have their edits reverted frequently are also at risk of getting blocked from editing the wiki. If your edits are being reverted, make sure to check the edit summaries on Special:RecentChanges so you can see why. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:56, 22 January 2018 (EST)

You have yet again re-done an edit that someone undid here. Just because you did not explicitly press "undo" does not mean you can step arround this policy. Do not re-do an edit that someone has undid, instead if you believe an undo was unjustified, take it up with the user who undid it on their talk page. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 19:39, 26 January 2018 (EST)

Old talk page posts

Stop commenting on old talk page posts, please. This is a violation of SW:POST. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:33, 26 January 2018 (EST)

Last warning

I suggest you give our policies a good hard read and start following them, because I am not going to warn you again. One more infraction will cause a temporary block from editing smash wiki. Serpent SKSig.png King 19:36, 26 January 2018 (EST)

Sup

I notice you enjoy character discourse a lot. Unfortunately, the wiki is not a good place to create your own Smash profile unless you make browsing and editing your top priority where you may have some extra time to personalize your page. If you don't have one already, I recommend making a Smashboards profile and browsing the forums. You'll have an easy time finding a discourse (like a chatroom) where you can discuss, post videos and share thoughts on characters and match-ups, not to mention you'll be able to highly personalize your profile with your main characters for each game.

You can of course continue to edit the wiki but please do not make numerous small edits that may risk you accidentally vandalizing pages just so can have an excuse to go back to your profile. The wiki is a serious place with a serious goal to provide readers with the best information on Smash. Nergal06 (talk) 23:38, 27 January 2018 (EST)

Honest Criticism

Policy.png Reminder: Please use the Show preview button located next to the Save page button to preview your edits. This prevents consecutive edits to the same page from clogging up the recent changes list.

If you haven't noticed, we have been undo-ing a lot of your work because we have deemed the edit's you've made are consistently incorrect. I know I'm just repeating what everyone said but I'm making a list of things again since you failed to respond to anyone on your talk page from a week ago.

1) STOP CLAIMING THINGS BASED OFF OF TIER LIST. The placement and movement of character being the best are still somewhat subjective. Questions such as Project M and other smaller mods might be part of the tier issues that come into question (grey area). If a new smash game gets released, that is a lot of edits and inconvenience of having to consistently monitor 5 or 6 game series of tier rank movement for very many characters that continuously get's patched (either buffed or nerfed).
2) Before making any post, use the "Show Preview" button to reduce any error's before making edits.
3) Ensure that all conversations on a topic are "current" and not something from the past such as something almost a decade ago.
4) Judging from your activities you are using this page solely as a place for personal forums, please refrain from these sort of post.
5) You didn't sign your last talk post, you literally just have to put in "~" 4 times.
6) If you really want to help the smash wiki community I recommend you look at our Articles to-do list and help clear up some of the issues that are still remaining.

Please let us know that you'll try to adhere to the rules. The admins and other contributor here are trying to help each other out as a community in smash wiki. We're not trying to be rude, just trying to make it easier for everyone. Lv20ninja Lv20ninjaDonkeyKongHeadSSB.png (talk) 09:03, 30 January 2018 (EST)

Image uploads

Please do not upload images that aren't applicable on articles unless you intend to use them on your userpage (in which case you should try to limit yourself and put them in Category:User images) Thanks. Serpent SKSig.png King 18:00, 27 February 2018 (EST)

Ok so when Serpent King said to put the images in category:User Images, he didn't mean it like that. What you need to do is at the bottom of the file page add the text: , thanks! Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 18:24, 27 February 2018 (EST)

Vandalism under IP

Your account has been tied to the IP 152.26.181.26, which was recently blocked for vandalism. As a result, you have been given a short 3 day block. Please be aware that this is against our rules and will not be tolerated; further violations will be met with longer bans. Thanks and have a nice day. Serpent SKSig.png King 18:31, 13 March 2018 (EDT)

Serpent King has forgotten to highlight which rules in particular - what you are doing is sockpuppetry - using two accounts at once, trying to pretend to be someone you're not. I'm going to fully admit: I was the one who raised the suspicion that the edits on Luigi (SSB) were your doing. To quote from the sockpuppet policy: "Once a user has an account, it is expected they use that account instead of editing logged-out. Intentionally editing while logged out may count as using a sockpuppet." Editing as your IP instead of your registered account, especially to perform joke edits or pretend you're someone else, is definitely not acceptable.
You are currently still able to edit your own talk page, so if you wish to explain yourself or say something about all this, you can still do so here. But remember, we take sockpuppetry very seriously on this site, so please take care in future. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:34, 13 March 2018 (EDT)

Okay, I'll admit that the Luigi (SSB) editing WAS my doing, but there was a point I was right about which was Falco/King Dedede's page. With all due respect, Black Vulpine was telling me that noting Falco's drop from Brawl to SSB4 was "not interesting" despite being noted in King Dedede's page. User:RatedMforMario. Let's-a-go!~ 12:08, 15 March 2018 (EDT)

That's because mentioning the biggest tier drops of all the characters is already a stretch as they are, and only barely acceptable, with some of them not being acceptable at all if the differences are very tiny without any other special circumstances. Trying to list the second biggest drops is just too much. Now, that's just what I think, I'm not necessarily the final arbiter on what is and isn't notable, but that's beside the point. You made that Falco edit under your IP, while pretending it wasn't you - that is in itself an offence.
Your block expires tomorrow. Please try to behave yourself in future. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:00, 15 March 2018 (EDT)

Even if it's not vandalism, editing under your IP is not permitted unless you have a good reason for doing so. An admin has confirmed that the highlighted IP is in fact yours. As the sockpuppet policy dictates, "Once a user has an account, it is expected they use that account instead of editing logged-out." Doing so intentionally is an offence. Please refrain from doing IP edits unless absolutely necessary. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 08:34, 22 March 2018 (EDT) Okay User:RatedMforMario. Let's-a-go!~ 11:33, 22 March 2018 (EDT)

Didn't you edit under your IP as well? If this rule is going to be enforced it needs to be applied equally to everyone. Awesome Cardinal 2000 14:47, 22 March 2018 (EDT)
While I agree with the main point you're making, the circumstances of the edit under the IP is justified (in my opinion), since it was a notification of him going under hiatus. But that's just my opinion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Aidan, the Springing Rurouni 14:52, 22 March 2018 (EDT)
The thing is, "A good reason for doing so" is highly subjective and debatable, so clear circumstances need to be set aside. Awesome Cardinal 2000 15:13, 22 March 2018 (EDT)
In my case, I had a good reason for doing the IP edit: I had already signed out, but forgot to put a notice up and didn’t want to show up as online again because of the stress I was under at the time. Plus, the policy requires that you also make clear that the IP is you if you edit signed out for ANY reason... which I did. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 16:35, 22 March 2018 (EDT)

I think that there isn't really a point in heavily enforcing the rule. Obviously as in this case, using your IP to vandalize is not ok, but in normal cases...well we all have done it right? To me, you should generally edit under your one username most of the time, but I don't see the harm in sometimes editing anonymously as long as there is no mal-intent.
