Mysterious (formerly Mysterious Dr. X, often shortened as Myst) was a Super Smash Bros. Melee Marth and Sheik player from Paris, France. Though he was never ranked nationally, rarely entering tournaments due to a lack of interest in competition, he was considered the best Melee player in France from the scene's inception (winning the country's first documented tournament, SSBMT) to 2004. He notably placed 3rd at Royal Treatment, the largest European tournament at the time, outplacing every other French competitor in the process.
Credited for being the first smasher to extensively use mindgames in France at a time when technical play was in its infancy, Mysterious would announce his retirement from competitive Melee following Royal Treatment, though he would still occasionally enter smashfests in the following years.
