R.O.B. Launcher (ロボットランチャー, Robot Launcher) is an enemy in Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary and a part of the R.O.B. Squad.

In the Subspace EmissaryEdit

R.O.B. Launchers are R.O.B. units with a military-like and green-and-brown color scheme and a bright blue cord; they also feature a large tube in their heads instead of eyes. They are immobile and are usually stationed against walls or the edge of platforms. They fire missiles that track the player and deal significant damage. Similar to Snake's Remote Missile, the missiles have reduced speed while turning and travel straight when reflected. If a R.O.B. Launcher is destroyed, any missiles it has fired will lose their homing ability and continue in a straight path.

The standard coloring has also been refinished with a green and brown military motif, stylishly accented with a blue cord connecting the arm sections and base. This R.O.B. does not use its arms--attacks are limited to the missiles fired from its head.

TriviaEdit

  • One of R.O.B.'s alternate costumes is very similar to this color scheme, but the cord has a different color.
  • R.O.B. Launchers are the only R.O.B. units that use a move that does not resemble one used by the playable R.O.B. The R.O.B. Sentries use his forward tilt and up special, while the R.O.B. Blasters use a weaker version of his neutral special.
