Ryo is an American smasher from the Atlantic South region of Gainesville, Florida who mains Ike.

In Brawl, he is considered to be the best Ike player in the United States and possibly the world (as San had became inactive in the community), though this has yet to be solidly proven on an international scale. Originally playing Roy before Brawl came out, Ryo moved from Melee to Brawl and took up Ike when he learned that Roy was not on the roster. He is known for his performance at WHOBO 4; he placed 5th using Ike and defeated top players such as UltimateRazer, TheReflexWonder, and Shaky during his run in bracket. With his doubles partner, True Blue, he also took a game off Ally and Trela, the winning doubles team. Although they later lost the set, the set has become well-known in the community. He was formerly ranked 3rd on the Florida Brawl Power Rankings.

In SSB4, he is considered to be the best Ike player in the world, though he also ocassionally uses other characters in local tournaments such as Palutena, Lucina, and more recently Corrin. He is mostly known for his performance at The Big House 5 (the 7th largest SSB4 tournament of all time), where he placed 17th along with fellow Ike players San and Ryuga, and at MLG World Finals 2015, where he placed 7th. He is currently ranked 1st on the North Florida Smash 4 Power Rankings, right below Mew2King, who holds the 0 spot.

Trivia

  • Ryo does free-style rapping. (A rap for the Ike boards)
  • Although Ryo rarely posts on Smashboards, he considers the Ike boards to be another family to him.
