The Big House 4 is an upcoming Super Smash Bros. Melee and Project M national tournament held in Romulus, Michigan, on October 4-5th, 2014, hosted primarily by Juggleguy and Strong Bad. It is the most recent in The Big House series of tournament events, following The Big House 3. In addition to featuring professional smashers from the Midwest region like Duck and Anther, the tournament also features powerful out-of-region talent like Mango, Mew2King, Hungrybox, Axe and Hax, as well as international talent such as Armada and Leffen..
The Big House 4 is the fourth-largest Melee tournament of all time and the second-largest Project M tournament of all time; additionally, the event will be the largest Midwest Melee tournament in history, surpassing its previous installment of The Big House 3, and the tournament is also both the largest two-day 'Smash tournament of all time, as well as the largest to run round-robin pools.
The Big House 4 also marks an important ruleset update for Project M; amid growing concerns over average gameplay time in version 3.02, it will be the first major tournament to use three stocks in Project M games instead of the previous standard of four.
