Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters, items, stages or anything else from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, or the stage considered more "fair", or the combatant with the most fans - just vote if you are a total fanboy of the participant. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you don't have to have an account to vote! Though new requests for fights can no longer be made, voting on already existing requests can be done here.

The Rules

  1. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
  2. You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
  3. Put a # before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
  4. Type ~~~~ after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not. Using the wrong number of "~"s counts as not signing - your signature must have both your signature itself and the time.
  5. There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
  6. Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
  7. You may change or remove your vote at any time. To do this you must remove your old vote in its entirety; this is an exception to the "never remove comments" rule.
  8. You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
  9. Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it). Extra spacing results in the list numbers becoming disjointed.
  10. While previewing an edit of a single section, you will see loose formatting marks (such as a trailing |}). Do not alter or delete them; they are important to the page's construction and only take effect when the entire round is viewed.
  11. If there are multiple fights in a single round, try to make all your votes in a single edit.
  12. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comments section. The following kinds of comments are not allowed:
    • Comments relating to how close or one-sided a matchup is.
    • Comments about other users' opinions. You can point out that a user may have gotten a fact wrong, but you can't say things along the lines of "That's not a good reason" or "But the other guy is better because X". Users can vote for any reason they want; trying to argue with someone's opinion generally has no positive outcome, in addition to simply inflating the comments section of an already rather long page.

If your vote is not added correctly - specifically, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have a short amount of time to fix it (typically between fifteen minutes to an hour). After this time, it may be corrected and moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion.

Intentional half-votes undermine the intent of the half-vote system as a way to punish voters for voting incorrectly. It is legal to want a vote to be worth half, but it is very heavily discouraged, and you must state in your vote you want it to be worth half. If you put your vote in the half-votes section without stating reasons why you want it there, it is worth zero and may be deleted by any user. You may replace it later should you do it correctly.

Round 149: Tabuu vs. Meta Knight

Winner!!
Meta Knight

14.5 to 18.5
A supposedly-overpowered boss against a supposedly-overpowered top tier. Which exceedingly annoying supremist reigns supreme?

Votes for Tabuu

  1. I see his face less often. 204.191.133.90 00:16, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  2. Somewhat of a pity vote, I just like the concept of Tabuu. Killing him with a sweet-spotted Knee Smash is the best feeling in the world. Krazy4Krash (talk) 05:03, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  3. Because. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 14:46, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  4. Meta Knight puts up a better fight, but my goldfish named Tabuu lasted more than double the lifespan of my other two goldfish. Toast  ltimatum  16:54, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  5. Aight this is why Tabuu wins...1. Tabuu has an OHKO unlike Meta Knight unless... 2. You consider Galaxia Darkness is an OHKO thus Tabuu still wins because Off Waves hits EVERYWHERE!!! Not just a little space infront (and back) of him 3. Better Teleport 4. MOAR BLUEE 5. Can turn giant 6. Rules an army larger then anything you can do back at Fire Emblem 7. Final Boss 8. Kick my favorite Smash characters a$S (Master Hand) 9. Two good for a tier list 10. If he was playable he could own everybody in the roster of Brawl & Melee (including Bosses). So yah....Take that. Headmaster Hand (talk) 17:05, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  6. I had a hard time deciding. I don't know... I just like Tabuu better, I guess. Air Conditioner File:Accoolx.png 17:45, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  7. Although Meta Knight is more popular, Tabuu will win. It takes at least six people to beat Tabuu in Subspace Emissary, but it takes easily one person (like me, of course) to beat Meta Knight.-Kaizer24.185.135.102 20:53, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  8. While Meta Knight is a playable character, and one I sometimes use in Multi-Man Brawl, Tabuu is pretty much awesome in my opinion, and I hope to see more of him in the next Smash game. Also, Kaizer: While you get six tries in Subspace, you only get one in Boss Battles mode. Good luck! JamesHeartless 00:16, 5 August 2012 (EDT)
  9. Because.37.3.33.189 13:30, 5 August 2012 (EDT)
  10. Meta Knight was overpowered by accident. Tabuu was supposed to be powerful. And Meta Knight is just TOO overpowered, whereas Tabuu is a final boss, heck, he's SUPPOSED to be powerful, and allowed to be. Plus, good on purpose is better than good by accident. Davsto (talk) 15:21, 5 August 2012 (EDT)
  11. I don't like Meta Knight. Naked Snake   15:39, 5 August 2012 (EDT)
  12. Tabuu will win hands down, up against Meta Knight. Because Tabuu is hard to beat also he have a lot of attacks then Meta Knight.Smash X 5432 (talk) 14:35, 9 August 2012 (EDT)
  13. Meta Knight is EXTERMLEY overrated. Heck, he even overshadowes Kirby sometimes. Yeah, f*ck you Meta Knight, even Tabbu was a very hard boss, I'd still chose him over you.
  14. I think Tabuu is harder to defeat than Meta Knight, especially since I have trouble dodging off waves.--71.160.203.16 20:29, 10 August 2012 (EDT)

  1. meta knight can't defeat 26 fighters at the same time with one attack, but tabuu can! —Preceding unsigned comment added by User:101.63.209.241 (talkcontribs)

  4. Darth Vader in a pint-sized form. Also, no doughnuts for hearts. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 00:13, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  5. Tabuu isn't actually that hard once you learn how to dodge his one hit KO attack. Meta Knight could easily beat him, and can actually pose a challenge. 110.174.90.69 00:17, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  6. I go with anything else than Tabuu all knight long. DragonMistress (talk) 03:29, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  7. Hm...Meta Knight is from the Kirby series. And Kirby is my favorite series. KIRBY DAMNIT!!! LightningBlue  03:51, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  8. Holy cow - this is mine! :) Anyways, I say MK because at least I've beaten Tabuu on the highest difficulty. I wouldn't stand a chance against a MK who knew what they were doing. 24.168.107.113 11:07, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  9. Come back when you can put up a fight, sug! 97.67.160.226 11:24, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  10. Metaknight FTW! Good always triumphs over evil. Smash Master 14:22, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
  11. Meta knight is so badass that he had to be banned from tournments because he is so good. I've seen people beat Tabuu with jigglypuff, freaking jigglypuff. No Competition.2.122.221.124 16:59, 4 August 2012 (EDT)

  16. I vote Meta Knight because he's wearing clothes. Hawk 21 Talk 22:37, 8 August 2012 (EDT)
  17. Tabuu was far too easy as a final boss, and Meta Knight pwns. 2.24.164.108 04:32, 9 August 2012 (EDT)
  18. Have you seen Mach Tornado in Kirby Superstar Ultra?! The Cheese   21:39, 9 August 2012 (EDT)

Seriously Toomai, I think a Sonic vs. Tabuu matchup would've been better. Since Sonic damaged one of Tabuu's wings. LightningBlue  03:53, 4 August 2012 (EDT)
I agree.--ShupaRoeh  11:17, 4 August 2012 (EDT)

I think that would've been more one-sided than this one. Also LightningBlue, you don't have to put a colon before each post.--Bandit 11:45, 4 August 2012 (EDT)

Oh man! Just one more week until the five-in-one special! And since this match was used right before it, I have an idea of what two of the matches in the special are going to be... Toadat9021doh (talk) 16:35, 4 August 2012 (EDT)

Bandit I want to and no one else cares. LightningBlue  17:29, 4 August 2012 (EDT)

Actually, make that three. ;) Toadat9021doh (talk) 20:47, 8 August 2012 (EDT)

My GAWD this is a hard decision... I would vote for Meta Knight because I like him better, but Davsto's got a point.--Shanicpower  Make it rain! 13:36, 10 August 2012 (EDT)
