Elite Smash
Is there any reason why you deleted me and my crew's page? I'd like an answer for that rudeness. :/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jov-SMX (talk • contribs) 20:15, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- As I said in the deletion summary, your crew isn't notable enough to merit its own page. The article clearly stated that you had attended few tournaments, and the fact that none of the members of your crew have Smasher pages doesn't help either. For an example of a notable crew, see Team Ben. It wasn't rudeness, I'm just doing my job. PenguinofDeath 20:33, February 12, 2010 (UTC)
- So what your saying is we shouldn't have a page because I'm the only one who has a page and that you think I'm lying about Elite Smash or something? Tek$ has a page on SmashWiki. He signed up a couple of minutes ago. I asked him to. So, uh, tell me what your opinion is and what we need to work out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jov-SMX (talk • contribs) 20:52, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- You have user pages, but not Smasher pages. You're currently not notable enough to get Smasher pages. Once you are notable enough to merit a Smasher page on SmashWiki according to SmashWiki:Notability, you can create a Smasher page. If you attend tournaments with your crew and some/all of you do well, your crew will gain regional notoriety. Until you have at least regional notoriety, your crew is not notable enough to merit a page. PenguinofDeath 21:04, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

Question
Can you archive my talk page. I don't want to keep seeing that vandal's message. 98.117.158.220 19:47, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Done. PenguinofDeath 20:17, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I owe you one. 98.117.158.220 01:11, February 14, 2010 (UTC)
Excuse me
I looked at my new article Palette Swaps and it says it wasn't there because you deleted it. Is this because of something I've done or is it about the article? Please write back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kirby0h0 (talk • contribs) 00:58, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- It was because the article was unnecessary, as it was just a copy of the Palette swap article. Also, please sign your comments with ~~~~. PenguinofDeath 01:20, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

regarding your irc question
No, not really. It's basically what I said but less natively charitable. Don't consider it an obstacle, in any case. It won't be. Semicolon (talk) 02:02, March 5, 2010 (UTC)
Woody's back
Well, I haven't been around for a while, and now I got an e-mail bout woody messing up my page again. Think you can help me out again? I also gotta learn more of the features. Sorry if I am kinda unorganized. Admiral Pit (talk) 19:12, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
- I got you covered. He won't be bothering you for around 2 billion years. I remember you from the time I spent on SmashBoards. I used to frequent the Pit forums when I mained Pit, and I learned some stuff from you. We could use someone with your knowledge and manner around here. Don't hesitate to stop by. Ken Hoang
Do you think the Ken Hoang page deserves a semi protect due to the amount of people vandalizing it? --KoRoBeNiKi (talk) 17:41, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
- Before this morning/last night (depending on time zone), the last time the article was vandalized was over six months ago. So, at the moment, no, it doesn't need protecting. PenguinofDeath 18:50, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
- That said, I can't argue that it is a likely target of vandalism. Can we honestly say that letting IPs edit the page is worth the trouble that could come from it? Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 18:59, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
- Seeing as the only trouble that has come from it in the last six months was last night, yes, I think we can honestly say that letting IPs edit the page is worth the trouble that could come from it. And it's not that much of a target, as the average vandal probably won't have heard of him. PenguinofDeath 19:23, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Delete this page
Please delete Super Smash Flash (series). The consesus of the comminity is that it should be deleted. It doesn't belong on the wiki. 98.111.95.78 02:56, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

Nice User pg
How did you get your user page to do that random stuff. --Megatron1 (talk) 21:18, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
- You put <choose> at the start of the part you want to vary, then put all the different things you want to come up, putting <option> before each one, and </option> after each one, then, at the bottom of the list of options, put </choose> to tell it where the variable part ends. Only two people make use of it on SmashWiki: me for my user page, and Toomai for his signature. PenguinofDeath 07:15, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
User Page
I noticed how you made some edits on my user page. I don't mind them but you made my Dedede image still. Why did you do this even though there other users who have images in motion on their pages? Omega Tyrant (talk) 00:17, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh yeah. I hadn't noticed that... Thing is, the smasherbeta template isn't designed for .gif files for the image parameter, as most smasher images are .jpg or .png files. I suggest that if you want to keep the .gif on the page, you take it out of the smasherbeta and put it elsewhere. PenguinofDeath 07:15, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

My user page
Hello PoD. I know you're not active much, but I have a question I hope you will answer. You see, I recently moduled my user page after yours, to have that "choose" option thing. However, no matter how much I go back to my user page, it stays the same. What am I doing wrong? Anon 05:33, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
- What do you mean? It's acting like a random section should. You only made 2 things random, so you might not see the other choice. You're doing it fine. I'm hurt (norlly) that you didn't ask me :p MegaTron1XD 05:40, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Megatron1: You have a point, but not a particularly valid one. According to the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, there are a practically infinite number of universes, and in a practically infinite number of these universes, no matter how many times you pressed F5 on Mr. Anon's user page, it would always display the same option. However, to put this in perspective, in a practically infinite number of universes (a practically infinite number of which overlap with the aforementioned universe), you are an 8'7" shrimp called Alfred Peabody. In this universe, there have been no accounts of instances in which the calculated probability of an event occurring differs wildly from the observed probability (provided the number of observations is sufficiently large, otherwise you can "prove" anything). As such, it is likely that there is indeed a problem with the code on Mr. Anon's page.
- Mr. Anon: The solution is simple and fairly obvious when you compare our user pages. You just need to get rid of the line you left between </option> and <option>. Also, if you space out your signature like that, it takes up an unreasonable amount of space on the source, and the date appears on a separate line. It actually looks better if you don't space it out.

- LOL. Well, you have been marked as an inactive admin, change that if you will. See ya on IRC.--MegaTron1XD 16:03, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
- There are three options, right? I was able to get three to come up, but for some stupid reason it displays the same one over and over again before it'll change. DP99 17:53, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
- There's actually four. One is my regular page, another shows a giant question mark, the third shows Kirby, and the fourth shows Ness. For the last two you have to put your mouse over the pictures and wait. Whenever I make an edit and hit "preview" it will choose randomly which one will pop up. After that, if I hit "save" it will show that choice. Anon 18:40, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Wiki pages try to avoid re-calculating themselves, which makes things like choice tags appear to not work. To force the issue, hold down Ctrl and refresh the page. This doesn't always work if the page you want to recalculate is a template. Toomai Glittershine eXemplary Logic 19:13, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
- I did get four, finally got your normal one to show up. Now how the heck would one simulate a ctrl-click on an iPod? DP99 19:20, July 10, 2010 (UTC)

Incredible
What a low-down, dirty trick. That you would even stoop so low is astounding. On top of that, one of, if not the most ignorant statement I've come across. How sad. It's fine that you know nothing about a subject, but don't act like you do. It's degrading to everybody, especially yourself. -SalaComMander --User was temp banned for this post
- How was it a low-down dirty trick, exactly? You could easily reply to my comment, and, as a matter of fact, you did. >.> On top of which, given that I have OCD, your statement about my ignorance on the subject is starting to look kinda ironic, isn't it? The vast majority of people with OCD can control it in some way; either by themselves, or with therapy, or, if all else fails, by making sure they don't get into situations in which their obsessiveness causes problems. If you can't control yourself when it comes to replying to comments left on your talk page, just keep off of wikis. And, if you're editing as a registered user but while logged out, you still have to sign your comments with ~~~~. Put "(SalaComMander)" beforehand if you want, but it was fairly obvious who you were anyway. If you want to reply to this, the block on your IP has expired, so go ahead. Just don't throw meaningless insults at me again. PenguinofDeath 17:14, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
- It was a dirty trick, because you left me a comment that I was uninformed about. "The vast majority of people with OCD can control it in some way". Riiiiiight. Ignorance will get you nowhere. Even if that was true, you said "the vast majority", not everyone. Very few people with OCD can "control" it, and if they can, then they don't really have OCD. I personally asked a psychiatrist about this, and they think you are "an ignorant son of a bitch". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.72.222.26 (talk • contribs) 21:17, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- Are you fucking kidding me? This is your best effort at proving me wrong? Feeding me lies and trolling me? It's your talk page, not anyone else's; if you care so much about the comments that are left on your talk page, it's your responsibility to check it regularly, not mine to inform you that I've edited it. FACT. Most people with OCD can control it either with sheer willpower or with cognitive behavioral therapy. FACT. Your so-called "psychiatrist" friend is talking bollocks. FACT. Now get the fuck off my wiki before I permaban your IP. PenguinofDeath 21:27, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Why are you deleting my articles? These are real smashers that enter tournaments and such... Steefizzle63 (talk) 16:53, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- You and your friends may attend tournaments in Newport News, but I doubt that any of you are notable enough to merit a page on this wiki. Please stop recreating the articles until you can provide evidence that you are in fact notable according to our definition of the word. PenguinofDeath 16:57, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
- Well, we do around the whole state, but yeah, we don't meet all of those, so sorry dude. Steefizzle63 (talk) 16:59, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- You don't need to meet all of them to be notable; just one of them would do. The one that most people meet is the first one, but the problem with the definition is that it's often difficult to prove that someone has regional recognition. National recognition is easy, because you can ask any competitive smasher, but for regional recognition you need to find someone from that region. If you all have All is Brawl accounts, and have heaps of medals from tournaments across Virginia, that would probably be enough to prove your notability. And there's absolutely no need to apologize. The notability policy isn't very well advertised any more. Also, please sign your comments with nothing more than ~~~~. PenguinofDeath 17:31, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
