DELTA 7 [FAT] or DELTA 7 [First Anniversary Tournament] was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate major held in Ota, Tokyo, Japan, on December 23rd, 2023. It was the last Ultimate major for 2023 and the first for the LumiRank 2024.1 ranking season.

Tournament summary

This tournament is known for being TamaPDaifuku's breakout performance. Although he had several good wins over some of Japan's best players before like Asimo, Yaura or Tea, he hasn't made top 8 at a major yet. As the twentieth seed, he lost to #4 Asimo in winner's top 32 1-3. Dropping to the loser's, TamaP will go on a 8-set long loser's run, defeating some of Japan's best players and scoring the biggest upsets of the tournament. In order, he defeated #28 Gachipi 3-2, #24 Kept 3-2, #8 Gackt 3-1 (Upset Factor 3) to enter top 8. He then eliminated of the tournament #5 Yamanaction 3-2 (UF 4), #3 Yaura 3-1 (UF 6), won the runback against Asimo 3-1 (UF 5), and lastly #2 Shuton 3-2 (UF 7) to enter Grand Finals loser's side against Miya. TamaP even managed to take a set over the first seed (UF 8, tied for the biggest of the tournament) 3-0 but lost the reset 2-3 (making Miya the first major winner of the 2024.1 season). Before his eventual win in Seibugeki 17 7 months later, it was Bayonetta's highest placement at a Ultimate major (since the major status of VCA 2022, which was won by Bloom4Eva, is debatable).

Outside of TamaP, the two others players who entered top 8 despite not being a top 8 seed are #10 M0tsunabE (placing 7th) with wins over #26 Fui and #46 Abadango and #22 Huto (placing 5th) with wins over #27 Eik, Fui and M0tsunabe. The 3 top 8 seeds to not make top 8 are #6 Jagaimo (who DQ'd), #8 Gackt and #7 Umeki. Reaching winner's quarters, Gackt was defeated 0-3 by Miya and then fall into TamaP's loser's run 1-3 for 9th. Umeki was upset par Fui in winners 1-3 and Eik in loser's 2-3 (both UF 4).

Furthermore, several top Japanese players underperformed outside of top 8 seeds. This include #14 Reno, losing to #46 Abadango 1-3 (UF 3) and #155 Nininga (UF 8) for 33rd, #15 Chicken losing to #50 Kisha 0-3 (UF 5) and Umeki 0-3 for 33rd, #11 Noi losing to #54 MairudonaH.O 2-3 (UF 5) and #42 TRIGGER 1-3 (UF 4) for 49th and #12 Ezs losing to #117 Maipan 0-2 (UF 8) and #76 Motsuda 0-2 (UF 6) for 97th.
