Wavedash 2023 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate superregional held in La Mirada, California, from June 16th-18th, 2023.

Summary of events

Melee

This event marked Jmook's third tournament victory of the year, only dropping two games the entire tournament and defeating KoDoRiN 6-0 across both winners' and grand finals. Zain also chose to compete while only using Roy instead of his usual Marth, and defeated Kürv and Chango en route to a 7th place finish, marking Roy's biggest tournament placing since the retirement of NEO.

Ultimate

MkLeo won his first tournament since January, using primarily Byleth but utilizing his former secondary Corrin to defeat Sonix in winners' finals. Sonix defeated MkLeo 3-0 in the first set of grand finals, but Leo remained on Corrin and won the reset 3-1.
