Trivia
- Close-Quarters Combat is the only Event Tourney to have its banner feature a character (in this case, Mega Man) who is not selectable during the Tourney, though the "no" sign indicates how projectiles are not allowed.
- Close-Quarters Combat is the first Event Tourney in which items are completely unavailable.
- Close-Quarters Combat is also the name of the fighting style that is used in the Metal Gear series; The Boss and Big Boss developed the technique, while Solid Snake only uses it in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as he vowed to never use it since the events of Metal Gear.
- Ironically, Snake is not playable in the Tourney.
- The PAL version's name "Up Close and Personal" shares the name as Captain Falcon's Classic Mode Route "Up Close and Personal" where he faces opposing fighters that do not use projectiles, with the exception of Ryu and Mii Brawler.
