Keitaro is a former player from New Jersey residing in Tallmadge, Ohio. He mained Falco and Mii Brawler in SSB4, as well as Falco in Brawl, and was considered one of the best mains of those characters in the world. In Brawl, Keitaro was ranked 80th on the 2014 SSBBRank and 7th on the Tristate Brawl Power Rankings, and took sets off of players such as Salem, Xzax, Seagull Joe, DKwill, Pelca, and Bloodcross. In Smash 4, he formerly ranked 10th on the New Jersey Smash 4 Power Rankings, and took sets off of players such as Salem, tamim, Vinnie, DKwill, and Legit. He was also known for his content production through Rush Hour Smash, which he founded with False, being the tournament organiser of the KTAR and SKTAR tournament series, as well as his commentary. He was also a member of the Smash Back Room and a member of the Unity Ruleset Committee.

On March 9th, 2016, Keitaro was signed by Counter Logic Gaming.[1] Although he later parted ways with them, he was then signed by Susquehanna Esports as a caster and content creator. [2] Susquehanna Esports removed him from the organization on July 2nd, 2020 following confirmed accusations of sexual misconduct. [3]

Sexual misconduct allegation and ban

On the early morning of July 2nd, 2020, amidst a wave of sexual harassment allegations in the community, a Twitter user by the name of Error: 102-R accused Keitaro for having sex with Shiva - who was a minor - during 2GG: Hyrule Saga [4]. On the same morning, Keitaro would release a Twitlonger confirming the allegation. He stated that he and Shiva participated in a drinking game and that she started acting sexual towards him, while Keitaro decided to follow through; he emphasized in his post that there were no excuses for his behavior. He also announced that he was moving out of the Loft and was going to leave for a long time in order to work on himself and deactivated his Twitter account[5].

Following these allegations, the 2GGaming panel banned Keitaro from all of their future events, alongside several others accused of sexual misconduct during this time.[6]

Trivia

  • Keitaro is well-known for his friendship with Nairo and a likable person on his streams due to his comedic and hyperbolic personality.
    • Because of his relationship, Keitaro commentated Nairo and Light's set at Collision 2019, exaggerating Ganondorf's strength.
  • Keitaro has several different catchphrases while playing. Examples include:
    • "Catch one of these" is Keitaro's signature phrase whenever he shoots a projectile, such as Mii Brawler Shot Put, Snake up smash or Remote Missile, Link's Remote Bombs, or Mii Swordfighter's Chakram and Gale Strike. When he lands a hit, he would shout "YOU CAUGHT IT!"
    • "Recover high, Keitaro!" is said whenever Keitaro tries to recover high with Snake's Cypher because he usually gets punished if he recovers low.
    • "LESGO!" means that whenever Keitaro clutches a game or beats Nairo, he would exclaim this word. This was originally said by Abadango when he came over to the LOFT house and did Hero ditto with Keitaro.
