Ontario was the first region to incorporate power rankings into their competitive Smash 64 console community. These rankings were calculated primarily using results from tournaments in Ontario. Despite the rankings being limited to Ontario, it is worthy to note that due to its developed console scene, the majority of Canada's top professionals are in these rankings, with only SuPeRbOoMfAn and The Z missing due to being from Alberta and Quebec, respectively.
After the Winter 2015 Power Rankings, Ontario split its PRs into two regions: Ottawa and Southern Ontario, due to the Ottawa community's extensive growth warranting its own rankings.
However, the region still has its own Project M Power Rankings.
