Thunder hitting downward in Melee[edit]
Was just watching some Melee video and I saw this. Dunno what causes it to hit the opponent downward, can someone verify this? Scr7 =D 17:51, 22 August 2013 (EDT)
- That is indeed pretty strange, especially since no part of Thunder that I know of has that low knockback. I'd like to say it's a phantom hit but he takes the full 10% damage, and if he somehow got hit twice (once normally, a second time a phantom hit) it'd be ridiculously hard to verify. Turns out it's likely to be the ceiling glitch... just saying this so no one thinks it's unanswered. Scr7(talk · contribs) 12:39, 12 September 2013 (EDT)
- It doesn't match the ceiling glitch's requirements though. It doesn't involve the victim being clanked/rebounded, and CF only ever takes one trajectory, not two. Toomai Glittershine The Irrepressible 13:04, 12 September 2013 (EDT)
- Brian told me on IRC that it's the ceiling glitch, then he started telling me about the glitch itself (I was unaware of it at that time). I'm unsure about this but I have no idea what else could cause the move to hit downward. Maybe you could ask him about it. Scr7(talk · contribs) 13:12, 12 September 2013 (EDT)
Move to (Pikachu)[edit]
Disagree - Bomb_(Link) is used entirely by characters named Link, but not all of the characters who use Thunder are named Pikachu. ♡FirstaLasto♥ 18:11, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
Dude, there's Young Link and Toon Link too. We're using Pikachu as a general term, as Link is a general term for Toon/young Link. Qwerty da beast 18:17, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
- Except Young and Toon Link only have those adjectives so they have a distinct name from the adult Link. Pikachu and Pichu are more different (albeit only barely). Miles (talk) 18:21, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
- I want to end this discussion quickly, so we can fix links, but I want to get my way as well, so look: Pikachu and Pichu are semi-clones. A special move in Pikachu's moveset can be used to refer to one in Pichu's (they're the same) so Thunder (Pikachu) is good. Thunder (Pokémon), on the other hand, states that this is the move from the Pokémon universe (or used by a Pokémon, eh, whatever you see it as). I'd stick with the more specific one.Qwerty da beast 18:31, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
Why aren't we using Bomb (Zelda) then? And don't say it's because there's a character named Zelda without a bomb because not every Pokémon has thunder.Qwerty da beast 18:40, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
- As I explained, Young/Toon Link are only not named "Link" because that name is already taken on the roster. Pikachu and Pichu are different names. "Bomb (Zelda)" would be an appropriate title if the move were available to a character that isn't "____ Link" but that's not the case. Miles (talk) 18:45, 16 July 2014 (EDT)
Oppose Per FirstaLasto and also, it isn't just Pikachu and Pichu that uses Thunder, Poké Ball Pokémon such as Raikou and Rayquaza should also be considered. Dots (talk) The Hammer Bro 10:37, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
Oppose - All of the characters who use that version of Bomb are "Link" (Toon and Young just being modifications because they themselves are different characters), whereas Thunder is used by Pikachu, Pichu, and Raikou, among others. These are not all "Pikachu", but they are all "Pokemon". I may be open to a different name, but "Pikachu" is inaccurate. ...a new Nuttais approaching... 11:48, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
If we have Counter and Counter (Palutena), couldn't we just have Thunder and Thunder (Robin)? Toast ltimatum 19:49, 29 September 2014 (EDT)
Gen 6 Image[edit]
Could someone replace the image in Gen 5 with an image from Gen 6? ...a new Nuttais approaching... 11:48, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
