Lux, formerly known as DeLux, is a smasher from Lawrence, Kansas who is currently residing in Cypress, California. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, he mains the Ice Climbers and secondaries Zero Suit Samus. He is generally considered to be one of the top Brawl players in the Midwest, with consistent high placings in regional tournaments since 2011. He holds the distinction of being the only third seed in Round 1 of pools to make it to bracket during Apex 2012. During Brawl's height of popularity, he was considered the second-best player in Kansas behind MJG (whom he had a comically bad record of 10-83 against as of WHOBO 5). Despite being considered one of the more innovative Ice Climbers players in the history of Brawl, he is fairly infamous for having an extremely negative opinion on how good the Ice Climbers actually are.
Lux also played Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, maining Zero Suit Samus, and was formerly ranked 2nd on the Kansas Power Rankings.
Lux would later become one of the best Brawl players in the post-Smash 4 era, especially since 2023, and is currently ranked 4th on the 2024 SSBBRank. He has also picked up numerous secondaries, including Meta Knight, Pit, and Mario.
Lux is also known for his community contributions as Director of the former Smash Lab, demonstrating detailed knowledge of game mechanics with numerous discoveries on a universal and Ice Climbers-specific level. He was one of the members of the Unity Ruleset Committee until its disbanding, and still maintains his status as a prominent Tournament Organizer for the Midwest West sub-region. He also does commentary work for CLASH Tournaments, and is a founding member of the "Coalition of Freedom", a support group for high level players that consistently place second in tournaments, but never first place.
