Links

Hi, when adding links to articles, I noticed you have been piping links when it was unnecessary. Per our Manual of Style, internal links should be as efficient as they can be while keeping text on the page untouched. For example, when linking to character articles, We have linking templates for each Smash game to link to game-specific articles without the need to pipe links. So when you wrote [[Mario (SSBM)|Mario]], you should have written {{SSBM|Mario}} instead, as it links to the same page, but takes less text space and looks cleaner in the code, while also being quicker for you to type out. Also, don't make claims about characters' "matchup spreads" and the like; matchups are an extremely subjective and contentious topic, and we have made an active effort to remove mentions of matchups in character articles outside of major matchups nigh-universally agreed on. Additionally, preview your edits and try to complete your editing in only a single edit or two, otherwise you'll flood the recent changes and the page's history with excess minor edits, and make it more cumbersome for other users to review your edits. And yet one more thing, inserting commentary into articles like this is completely unacceptable, do not do that again. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 09:33, February 15, 2024 (EST)

Thanks for the info! I now know that I will be wasting less time on sections in the future. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LukaSmash (talkcontribs) 10:27, February 15, 2024 (EST)

Preview your edits

Hi, when editing, remember to preview your edits, instead of saving after every little change and then reviewing it. Otherwise you'll flood the recent changes and the page's history with excessive minor edits that could have done in a single edit or two, potentially obscuring other bad edits from being noticed and making it more difficult for users to review your edits. Well, I am trying to make as few mistakes as possible, but I guess I'm just not good at this. LukaSmash (talk) 10:50, March 13, 2024 (EDT)
