Min Min (ミェンミェン, MinMin) is a character and playable fighter in the Nintendo Switch game ARMS.
Origin
Min Min is one of fifteen fighters from the Nintendo Switch title ARMS. She is one of a select few people in the world to be born with a gene causing ARMS, a phenomenon where the person's arms (or, in rare cases, other body parts) turn into long, stretchy material. In Min Min's case, her ARMS seem to be made of ramen noodles, due to her family operating the famed Mintendo Noodle House. Her left arm can also transform into a dragon arm when fully charged, keeping the ARM equipped to it charged and increasing its power until she gets knocked down. In addition to her ARMS, she also kicks, which enables her to deflect opponents' punches. Min Min competes in the ARMS League to promote her family's restaurant.
Standard ARMS
In addition to their extendable ARMS, all fighters in the ARMS League have equipment also referred to as ARMS, which replace their fists and serve as their primary weapons. Different ARMS have different types (referring to how they act when used to punch), attributes (a usually elemental effect left on any opponents hit when the ARM is charged), and weights (determining what will happen if two ARMS collide; heavier ARMS will beat out lighter ones, while ARMS of equal weight will cancel each other out). Each fighter comes with three standard ARMS, although all ARMS can be unlocked for all fighters through the ARM Getter minigame. Min Min uses her standard ARMS in Super Smash Bros., which are as follows:
- The Ramram (ホットリング, Hot Ring) is a medium-weight Curve-type and has the Fire attribute.
- The Megawatt (メガボルト, Megavolt) is a heavy-weight Heavy-type and has the Electric attribute.
- The Dragon (ドラゴン, Dragon) is a medium-weight Beam-type and has the Fire attribute.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
As a playable character
An ARMS representative was announced to be added as DLC on March 26th, 2020, but it was not until June 22nd that this character was confirmed to be Min Min. Her extendable ARMS give her a unique control scheme and play-style that encourages playing on the ground from a distance but is at a disadvantage in the air and in close range. She was released as part of Challenger Pack 6 on June 29th, 2020.
Prior to the game's launch, Masahiro Sakurai considered adding characters from recent Nintendo titles such as ARMS and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in the base roster, but he was unable to do so because they were announced long after planning and production of Ultimate began. When it came time to develop a second wave of downloadable content for the game, Sakurai considered Min Min and Ninjara as possible candidates and, following a request from ARMS producer Kosuke Yabuki, the position went to Min Min.

Trivia
- Min Min is the first DLC newcomer in any Smash game that came from a new first-party series; Corrin, Byleth, and Piranha Plant were from preexisting series.
- Min Min's right ARM in ARMS is Megawatt by default, while in Smash, it is Ramram.
- Min Min is the fifth female DLC fighter introduced in the Super Smash Bros. series after female Corrin, Bayonetta, Kazooie, and female Byleth. As Corrin and Byleth are alternate costumes to their male counterparts and Kazooie is paired with Banjo, she is the second DLC fighter to be exclusively female after Bayonetta.
- Min Min is the fourth fighter to originate from a fighting game, following Ryu, Ken, and Terry. Of these four, she is the first female character and first-party character to come from this genre. She is also the first to debut in a 3D fighting game.
- Min Min marks the first time a new franchise is represented by a fighter who isn't the flagship character or mascot in some form (such as one who is the main protagonist, or prominently featured in official media in some form, such as box art).
- In the words of ARMS producer Kosuke Yabuki, this is because "every fighter in ARMS is the protagonist".
- Min Min, Mewtwo and Lucas are the only fighters to already have appeared as collectibles prior to being added as playable characters within the same Smash game.
- Min Min is the first playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series to have Chinese voice lines. She is also the only character to speak a real-life language other than English or Japanese in all regions of Ultimate.
- Min Min, Dark Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Bayonetta and Inkling are the only fighters to have never appeared on an exclusively handheld console outside of Smash Bros.
- Coincidentally, each of these characters are female by default.
- Min Min is the second fighter whose system of origin is the Nintendo Switch, the first being Byleth (discounting Fire Emblem Heroes).
- Min Min has the shortest duration of debuting in a non-playable role before becoming a playable character at 1 year and 6 months, as she debuted in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit before becoming a playable fighter in said game via DLC.
- Perhaps coincidentally, Min Min's rapid jab bears a slight resemblance to Chun-Li's Hyakuretsukyaku in Street Fighter; Min Min and Chun-Li are both Chinese female characters from fighting games.
- Min Min, Ness and Lucas are only characters to have a reflector outside of special moves. Coincidentally, all three are a smash attack.
- Min Min's is the only one to not be her forward smash, as it is instead her up smash.
