Skill Super Smash Bros. Top professional

Jouske, (English pronunciation Joe-skay) or 丈助 is one of the top two Smash 64 players in Japan (along with wario), and the top Samus main in the world.

He plays all other characters at a high level, as seen in his various twelve character battles, though it has been stated his favorite characters are Samus and Donkey Kong.

He is known for his incredible spacing, which is expected of a top Samus main, and his use of the last hit of Samus's forward aerial to link devastating finishers.

History

Jouske's wins include the Kanto Smash 64 tournaments in 2009, 2012, and 2013, and a 200 person online tournament known as Smash 64 Spring Online Tournament. He also remains the only player in the world to have won a 12 character battle against Isai. Against SuPeRbOoMfAn, he has a winning record of 3-0 in 12 character battles in the US version, and a 1-1 record in 12 character battles in the Japanese version.

Following a 2nd place finish at Kansai 2015, Jouske announced on his Twitter he would enter a temporary hiatus period, which lasted for 1 month.

Trivia

  • Jouske has stated he would never travel overseas to compete with other players, and thinks that if a player believes they can beat him, they should take the initiative to travel to Japan.
  • Jouske dislikes being photographed or videotaped.
  • His name is based on the character of Josuke Higashikata from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
  • His Kirby is said to be superior to even the top Kirby mains in Japan, yet due to cultural reasons, Japanese 64 players are only seen playing one character in all tournaments. This is also probably since most Japanese events outside of Grand Finals are best of 1.
