Crews

Once again, four captains previously chosen by vote (Mango, Armada, Leffen and Mew2King) formed crews using the snake draft method. This time, however, four of the six casters (HomeMadeWaffles, Lovage, Toph, and Vish) were included on the teams as a donation incentive.

Format

Unlike previous installments, the singles bracket was not decided by initial seeding but through four group stages in the GSL format, which is a four player double-elimination bracket without a grand final. The pool order was decided by the top four seeds (Armada, Hungrybox, Mango and Mew2King) who selected players in snake order.

Trivia

  • A Summit tournament organizer confirmed that the Summit team decided against numbering Smash Summit events after the third entry.[1]
  • Leffen's name was uncommonly placed as "L3ffen" on the first promotional image for the tournament, which happens to be how his YouTube and Instagram username is stylized.
