Hi there!
Welcome to our wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.
- Read this first as it provides many great resources designed to help users get oriented with the wiki and become part of the community.
- Visit the recent changes to see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
- Questions? You can ask at the help desk or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on my talk page!
- Need help? The community portal has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit.
I'm really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!
The edit summary
It's not required, so you don't have to write stuff like 'Fixed minor typo' in your edit summaries. Qwerty (talk) 13:09, 27 November 2014 (EST)

Bless you. - Drilly Dilly (talk) 18:58, 17 August 2015 (EDT)
- Thank you? Is something wrong? John PK SMAAAASH!! 10:02, 18 August 2015 (EDT)
- There's nothing wrong. I just enjoy doing that. - Drilly Dilly (talk) 02:11, 8 September 2015 (EDT)

Recent edits
How do you find out what recent edits have been made? - Drilly Dilly (talk) 18:34, 22 September 2015 (EDT)
- On any page, go to the history (you probably know that's right at the top by "edit this page"). From there, click the two circles representing the revisions you want to compare, and then click "compare selected revisions". Tell me if that works! John PK SMAAAASH!! 21:47, 22 September 2015 (EDT)

My pages
Do you find these two pages convenient: this one and this one? - Drilly Dilly (talk) 02:10, 27 September 2015 (EDT)
- Yeah, I find both to be fairly useful. Since PM is limited on its wiki, its good that people can make lists of info for it on userpages. I know that Falco's dair is a spike, but I seem to remember meteor cancelling it before. I wonder why? Btw, be sure to check your talk page. I had a question for you. John PK SMAAAASH!! 16:57, 27 September 2015 (EDT)
- Maybe it was because the hitstun was severely low due to low knockback. Otherwise, yes it is a spike. Also, about that question... - Drilly Dilly (talk) 03:25, 28 September 2015 (EDT)
- Yes? I've been waiting for an answer for a couple days now. I'm not trying to pressure you, I just want an answer. John PK SMAAAASH!! 19:03, 29 September 2015 (EDT)

Those recent edits
Judging by that guy's username, I have the feeling that those were on purpose. Aidan, Master of Speed and Aura 12:44, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
- You're probably right, but I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt. If he does anything like that again though, I'll be even more inclined to agree with you. John PK SMAAAASH!! 12:58, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
- If this repeats, allow me to take care of it; I have rollback. Aidan, Master of Speed and Aura 13:13, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
Something of note...
A user named John1887363 (Now indef blocked) recently trashed some of the wiki with a username made to be a faker of YOU! just saying. INoMed (Talk • Contribs) 12:59, 13 October 2015 (EDT)
- Don't worry, I know. That guy was actually the second vandal trying to impersonate me. It isn't something to get worked up over since the admins always block them eventually. But thanks for telling me, and thanks to everyone who undid his edits to my pages! John PK SMAAAASH!! 13:03, 13 October 2015 (EDT)
If I may...
Do you know how to make your signature image transparent? If not, I'll be happy to do so.
The reason I ask is because I have a custom CSS, and the image has a non-transparent background. Aidan, Master of Speed and Aura 10:46, 26 October 2015 (EDT)
- I also have a custom CSS too, and I'm also having trouble with the image as well. (Just like loading.gif!) INoMed (Talk • Contribs) 10:49, 26 October 2015 (EDT)
- I don't know how to make my image transparent. What is the benefit? You two have been working on that complicated-looking code stuff for a while now, and I have no idea what they're for. Would you mind explaining? Thanks! John PK SMAAAASH!! 12:29, 26 October 2015 (EDT)
- A transparent image basically means it will look the same, regardless of what color background. Take one of my signature images, for example; it is transparent, therefore, there's no white background, and it shows up the same, even on my blue background on my CSS.
- That said, if you do not know how to make it transparent, perhaps I can do so for you? Aidan, Master of Speed and Aura 12:40, 26 October 2015 (EDT)
- Go right ahead! Thanks for the offer, I appreciate your helping out other users. John PK SMAAAASH!! 12:41, 26 October 2015 (EDT)
- Well, I...tried...but it won't let me upload it as transparent (even though I saved the image as transparent). Aidan, Master of Speed and Aura 12:59, 26 October 2015 (EDT)
- What is preventing you from uploading? INoMed (Talk • Contribs) 15:51, 26 October 2015 (EDT)
- No, it worked. Serpent∞King (talk) 15:54, 26 October 2015 (EDT)

Roy
You really need to stop. I don't wanna cause any quarrels, just telling you nicely. - Drilly the Hedgehog 01:18, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- I looked at Roy (PM) and he's done nothing wrong. Please do not go around warning users about things that are perfectly fine. Serpent∞King (talk) 04:25, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- Stop what? All I've done is fix awkwardly worded sections (such as "Roy does not undergo any specific archetype" - ???) and the biased tone ("Overall, almost all of his flaws he had in Melee are practically non-existent in Project M due to the tremendous buffs he received that nullified them." is not neutral tone), removed excessive use of semicolons ("Unlike the majority of characters, Roy does not undergo any specific archetype; he maintains a unique archetype of being a nimble fighter with relatively strong attacks, an uncommon combination for a lightweight; he retains many of his attributes from Melee, including a fast dash, a fast falling speed (the same as the significantly heavier Donkey Kong), and an average air speed." - this sentence can be broken up to be easier to read without losing the meaning) and removed redundancy and unnecessary portions ("His up throw is the 9th strongest (10th if Olimar's is counted as two due to his purple and especially blue Pikmin being stronger) and has great chain grabbing potential (though due to the slight knockback increase compared to Marth's, it is overall more difficult to chain grab with Roy's), being capable of chain grabbing fast fallers." - Pretty much everyone has some chain grabbing potential against fast fallers, and that's basically been stated twice in that sentence.)
- The only reason I'm continuing to revert these edits is because you don't seem to realize that what I'm doing is perfectly fine. I've tried multiple times to try and find a solution to this but you seem to be ignoring me on your talk page. Finally, I had to talk to an admin, who made a neutral tone guide that I adhered to when editing the Roy article. The admin seemed to agree to me that my version of the page was better. Serpent King seems to think the same. It's not like I'm obsessed about having my version of the page be the one displayed, I just care that it looks right. Please respond to me this time. John PK SMAAAASH!! 10:04, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- Perhaps Drilly needs to catch up on the situation. Aidan, Master of Speed and Aura 10:09, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- Why do you guys hate my version of the section so much and think John's is better? I added very great details in my revision. - Drilly the Hedgehog 15:45, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- It's not that we hate it, keep in mind SW:TONE. We're not looking for length, we're looking for professional info. I might be wrong about that, but that's what I think is going on. Disaster Flare (talk) 18:50, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- Correct me if I'm wrong, but to my knowledge that was created because of the fact that people were having trouble figuring out what would be considered "professional wiki articles." Disaster Flare (talk) 18:52, 27 October 2015 (EDT)

Clarification as the author of that policy: it was my attempt to codify and guide people on the subject of encyclopedic tone when discussing characters. I wrote it in part to avoid a mess like what happened on the Marth (SSB4) page from happening again; by clarifying better from the beginning, and with the input of other users, the kinds of things that are inflammatory or opinionated, the policy would clarify the kinds of statements to be avoided. Miles (talk) 18:58, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- Okay, no offense to John, but you're really starting to mess up these pages. I don't even know what I'm reading anymore. - Drilly the Hedgehog 00:39, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- He's not messing up anything Drilly, this new version looks better, at least in my opinion. Look, can we please just stop arguing? This isn't what we as a community stands for. We have to look out for each other, not endlessly fight one another. We have each other's backs, whether we admit it or not. Disaster Flare (talk) 00:55, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- How? Did you even bother to compare his and my versions? Um... here? - Drilly the Hedgehog 00:58, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- Yes I did, and I abide by the "quality over quantity rule." The main reason I prefer John's is it because it explains the same amount yours does, but in a smaller paragraph, therefore it takes less time for readers to read the page and move on to other articles if they so choose. Less is more, as they say. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:00, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- Okay, that's it. I'm m_d (fill in the blank). - Drilly the Hedgehog 01:03, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- I want no quarrel with you Drilly, I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just stating my honest opinion. Question, have you looked at both revisions and actually thought about why you think yours is better? Because I haven't seen you state reasons why it is. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:07, 28 October 2015 (EDT)

(reset) I understand. I don't want to argue with you either (even though I am mad at John), but let me clarify that I think mine is better since I put more details in my revision to be very specific (also because I just like adding details in general; feels motivated). Overall, for me, it felt better to have there be more readable content in the section. - Drilly the Hedgehog 01:12, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- I get it, really I do, sometimes lengthy explanations are better, but remember an old man's wise words: there's a time and place for everything. The fact that so many people sided against your revision would suggest this is not one of those times, so let's just cool off, end the argument, and go back to editing like normal. My advice: Look around for any pages that DO need lengthy explanations, and if you're not sure, ask around, I'm sure someone knows of a page or two. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:17, 28 October 2015 (EDT)

Well.

- Wow, thanks! It's always nice to be close to finishing a big project like this one. I will be sure to continue the work. After I'm done with moving these descriptions, I will probably continue working on making requested competitive articles. John PK SMAAAASH!! 17:29, 29 November 2015 (EST)
- Also, to answer some previous questions, 1) I'm on the fence between 1122 and 2122 with Ganon. 2) As for now, I think a crashing stomp (similar to forward aerial) would be cool for Snake's fsmash. Ganonmew, The Festive Evil Clone 17:35, 29 November 2015 (EST)
- 1) I prefer Ganon's sword because it has a deceptively long range with a powerful sweetspot. The way I see it, Ganon has enough KOing options outside of the Ganon Punch, so you can afford to switch it out. Besides that, the sword is way cooler. xD 2) As for Snake, I like that idea. A crashing stomp fits the "slow, but agile and powerful" theme that seems to mark his moveset. I was thinking a kick like Ryu's could work. Ideally, the new forward smash would be something from the Metal Gear series. I've never actually played a full Metal Gear game, but I was also thinking a forward smash missile launcher like his Stinger that goes further the longer you charge it would work too (sort of like a horizontal version of his up smash or Mega Man's forward smash). John PK SMAAAASH!! 17:44, 29 November 2015 (EST)
- 1) I hate the idea of a sword Ganon for the same reasons OT does, but I guess it's pretty cool LOL. Also it is not all rainbows: it fixes one of Punch's issues (range) while making another even worse (ending lag). 2) I just wanna say one more thing about Snake on this talk page: he actually somewhat benefits from the physics: rage, shieldstun, and edgestealing all benefit him. Ganonmew, The Festive Evil Clone 17:22, 30 November 2015 (EST)
- 1) Why does OT hate the sword Ganon? 2) As for Snake, maybe he'd be like Meta Knight - less dominant than before but still effective in the changed metagame. I would hope so, considering that I would probably main him. John PK SMAAAASH!! 21:28, 30 November 2015 (EST)
