Dixie Kong is a character in the Donkey Kong series. She is Diddy Kong's girlfriend. Despite Diddy Kong's absence in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Dixie appeared as a trophy, and later reprised this role in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Dixie appeared as a trophy in Melee. Curiously, Diddy Kong did not.

In Brawl, Dixie appears again as a trophy, as well as several stickers.

Diddy Kong has a palette swap that makes his clothes pink and his fur a lighter brown, a reference to Dixie Kong.

Trophy Info

Diddy Kong's cutie of a girlfriend with an adorable blond ponytail. That ponytail is hardly for show--it helps propel her through the air for extended hang time and is indispensable for spin-attacking enemies and lifting barrels. Watch out--Dixie packs more power than you might imagine!

As A Playable Character

Hackers who decompiled the Brawl disc discovered a character file package that appears to have been made for Dixie Kong, possibly indicating failed plans to include her as a playable character in the game. Speculatively, she probably did not make it in because of her similarity to Diddy Kong (and her much smaller relevance to the Donkey Kong series), like other failed characters such as Toon Zelda and Toon Sheik and their similarities to Zelda and Sheik. It is also possible that she was intended to be in a team of some sort with Diddy Kong.
