- At DreamHack Winter 2015, Hungrybox, Armada, and Plup take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles, and Hungrybox & Axe win Melee doubles.

- At We Tech Those, Junebug, Darc, and Frozen take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Project M singles, Professor Pro & Seagull Joe win Project M doubles, and Professor Pro wins Melee singles.

- In a Nintendo Direct, Cloud Strife is announced as an upcoming downloadable content playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4; also revealed was Midgar, a new Final Fantasy stage, and new Chocobo headgear for Mii Fighters. A further Smash announcement broadcast is announced for December.
