Can a down aerial or other move be a natural combo?
I know a natural combo consists of one mult-hitting move, but can an aerial be a natural combo? ThePikaPlayer (talk) 16:23, 29 October 2015 (EDT)User:ThePikaPlayer 4:18, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
- By definition, no. Miles (talk) 17:01, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
- Thanks a lot. ThePikaPlayer (talk) 17:23, 29 October 2015 (EDT)User:ThePikaPlayer 5:23, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
Item ordering
Here's an idea. I thought about you could make an ordering of items that appeared in the Super Smash Bros. series. Like you did in your other ordering articles, you could sort them by order of appearances in the games and by series. Juju1995 (talk) 20:25, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
- It's not nearly as important, frankly. Items are much less central to Smash gameplay and we don't have many situations where we'd need to list off most or all of them the way we do with characters. Miles (talk) 20:33, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
Company involvement
Did HAL Laboratory, the creator of the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. series, had any involvement in SSB4? Juju1995 (talk) 21:00, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
- Not in terms of development, so far as I can tell. Only providing rights for Kirby content and such. Miles (talk) 21:05, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
- Correction: HAL provided "development cooperation". Take that as you will. Miles (talk) 21:07, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
Easiest Characters
Which characters are you good at in Super Smash Bros. 64? Don't forget to add links. Juju1995 (talk) 21:14, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
- I've played SSB64 like twice. I hardly have a character I could say I'm good at. Also, you're kind of spamming my talk page a bit with questions. I'd appreciate if you could try to dial it back a bit. Miles (talk) 21:27, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
I'd ask him but...
You're here now and I am curious. I was browsing through our old archives (specifically SW:RFB) and noticed a lack of Toomai. Did he never actually RfB? Serpent∞King (talk) 02:48, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Correct. When we moved from Wikia to being hosted by Porple, our last active bureaucrat was Shadowcrest, aka User:Emmett. Emmett basically declared that he no longer had the time for the job, and summarily promoted Toomai (then an admin) by his own choice alone. Miles (talk) 03:59, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Oh ok. I wondered XD thanks. Serpent∞King (talk) 04:05, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- In truth, I've considered submitting a RfB of my own, since my last one was 6 years ago. It's hard to know whether it's a good idea, though... It's weird to think about how long ago that was. It seems like only two of the users who were around to support my RfA 7 years ago are still remotely active around here. I've tried to be a good leader, but I worry that my record isn't exactly quite what people would want these days. That's on top of the ambiguity about whether we really need another bureaucrat at all while Toomai is around. Miles (talk) 04:17, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Well...let me put it this way: I am not sure I could support an RfB from you (I'd probably end up in neutral) but I would never suggest or vote in support of you being demoted or anything. Though I will say that I have agreed with many more of your decisions since the Marth argument. I do think you have made considerable progress on the feedback I left you months ago. Serpent∞King (talk) 04:23, 30 October 2015 (EDT)

I may have a solution for Shin Shoryuken / Shinku Hadoken
Smasher:Naex/Xean does not display as a subpage. I am not sure why, but figuring that out may solve our problem. Serpent∞King (talk) 21:14, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- ...I think I know why. Give me a sec. Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 21:16, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- I knew it.
- See, on the Smasher page, there's no redirect for "Smasher:Naex", so therefore there's no subpage. Whereas for SS/SH, there's a redirect from Shin Shoryuken, making it so that the wiki thinks there's a subpage (when it's really just a redirect). Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 21:18, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- There has to be some solution. Serpent∞King (talk) 21:19, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- (edit conflict) But we NEED a redirect for Shin Soryuken. So that doesn't help.
- Could we use display title and name it something else? Like maybe Shin Shoryuken & Shinku Hadoken? Or use a backslash? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by BOO! Or maybe Nutta. 21:20, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- "At least one person seems to dislike how the slash in the page's title results in fooling the wiki into thinking it's a subpage. Is this enough of a problem to warrant naming the page differently, perhaps with a less common slash character (like ⧸ or ⁄)? Toomai Glittershine The Yoshi 17:16, 14 June 2015 (EDT)"
- Why not this? Aidan, the Wandering Space Warrior 21:23, 30 October 2015 (EDT)

The page is fine as it is, in my book. It's an inconsequential problem. Miles (talk) 21:52, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- I disagree. Maybe it's because I'm OCD, but having the page as it is now bothers me. Serpent∞King (talk) 21:54, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- I mean yeah it's inconsequential, but I also don't see why we shouldn't fix it. It's likely an easy fix. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by BOO! Or maybe Nutta. 21:56, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- If we leave the normal / as a redirect, ⁄ should convey the same point. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by BOO! Or maybe Nutta. 21:58, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Other than é, which is kind of unavoidable sometimes, we should always be avoiding titles that aren't ASCII. Miles (talk) 22:07, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Well, sometimes it's unavoidable to use a different type of slash, lest we have the strange and unprofessional glitchy subpage.
- Alternatively, do any of our CSS-ier people know how you could hide that? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by BOO! Or maybe Nutta. 22:10, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Technically é is extended ascii (#233) Serpent∞King (talk) 22:11, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Clarification: other than é, we should always be using titles that can be easily typed on a standard English-language keyboard. Miles (talk) 22:48, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- Isn't that one of the reasons redirects exist? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by BOO! Or maybe Nutta. 23:03, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- It's still preferable to not rely on redirects to reach most titles. Miles (talk) 23:04, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- I'd say it's also preferable to look professional and not have weird glitches on our pages. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by BOO! Or maybe Nutta. 23:05, 30 October 2015 (EDT)
- We have other pages like this too. If it bothers you this much, find some other workaround that doesn't involve using questionable characters in page titles. Miles (talk) 23:14, 30 October 2015 (EDT)

Simple Question about Character Credits at Tournaments
Hey, sorry if you aren't the right guy to ask this to, but can you explain exactly the rules on this wiki about character icons next to a smasher's name in a specific tournament? For example... if ESAM goes Pikachu for an entire tournament, then goes Samus for one game in GF, and loses that game, then switches back to Pikachu, I understand that in the page for that tournament he would only be counted for Pikachu. But let's say for example, he lost a game with samus, then decided to stay samus for another game, and still lost. How strict are these rules exactly? I bring this up because at Smash the Record Smash 64 singles, Sheer Madness played Yoshi the entire tournament. When he got to grand finals against Wizzrobe, he lost game one with Pikachu, lost game two with Ness, then lost his last game with Pikachu. How should I credit him on the StR page? Yoshi only? Yoshi + Pikachu? Or Yoshi, Pikachu, Ness? I currently have it as Yoshi and Pikachu because he played more than one game with him, but please feel free to correct me. Sorry if this is so long, thanks! Kite (talk) 19:03, 31 October 2015 (EDT)
- It's a good question. The general policy that seems to be in place is to list any characters that contributed to a set the player won. So in the case you mention, Sheer Madness would be credited as Yoshi only. Miles (talk) 19:07, 31 October 2015 (EDT)
- Thanks for the response! Makes a lot of sense, is there any official/written rule somewhere on the wiki that goes over this? It really made me feel like I had to guess. Kite (talk) 19:13, 31 October 2015 (EDT)
- It's not codified anywhere to my knowledge; it's just something I've seen Jamal enforcing for consistency that seemed very reasonable to me. I might draft a tourney page guideline at some point to avoid future confusion. Miles (talk) 19:15, 31 October 2015 (EDT)
- Here's what I think. SW:NOTABLE needs revised...a lot...anyway. Why not just mention this there? Serpent∞King (talk) 01:55, 1 November 2015 (EST)
- Debatable; SW:NOTABLE is about whether a page is notable enough to exist, not about formatting. I was thinking something more along the lines of "here's a guideline page showing how to build a tournament page and format results properly". Miles (talk) 02:00, 1 November 2015 (EST)
- Fair enough. Serpent∞King (talk) 02:02, 1 November 2015 (EST)

So I've been thinking
about reapplying for adminship. Thoughts? Too soon? I ask because I really value your opinion in this. Serpent∞King (talk) 02:01, 1 November 2015 (EST)
- I'm not going to tell you what to do. Instead, let me pose you a question: what's different now from last time? Without a clear and convincing answer of what's different (and in your favor), I wouldn't expect most users, including myself, to think differently of it. Miles (talk) 02:04, 1 November 2015 (EST)
- Well I feel like I have participated in more disputes and have gained experience in handling them since then. I am also much more active in vandal hunting (and I'm a rollbacker now...I see where not having that the first time was a mistake). Anyway, thanks for the help there. I think I will hold off for now. Could you please
Protect User talk:PSIWolf? People keep editing it and you know he's just going to come back and rage. Serpent King 08:31, 1 November 2015 (EST)
- Yeah... As semi protection won't cut it, as PSI is a rollbacker. (Even with Semi protection, PSI's gonna use personal attacks against respected users.) INoMed (Talk • Contribs) 08:35, 1 November 2015 (EST)
Thanks.
You did the right thing to PSIWolf's talk page. My gratitude for doing that goes to you. Ganonmew, The Thankful Evil Clone 12:10, 1 November 2015 (EST)
Level of respect
Do you treat users of all types with the same respect or do you treat with different (ie higher-ranked users like admins/bureaucrats with more respect than newer users)? - Drilly the Hedgehog 15:09, 1 November 2015 (EST)

A stroke of misfortune.
I had a hard drive failure this afternoon in which I lost ...well... all the images and source stuff I was saving for SW (debug menu stages stand out the most...). I was wondering if I should be worried about restoring that locally, or if it's relatively safe to leave on SW. Serpent King 23:13, 1 November 2015 (EST)
- Sorry to hear that. I don't think those images are going anywhere anytime soon, so there's not much need to worry about that. Miles (talk) 00:12, 2 November 2015 (EST)
- Shame your hard drive failed. I'm currently decking out an SSD in my iPad! INoMed (Talk • Contribs) 02:27, 2 November 2015 (EST)

Whatever happened to SW:1RV? You and Omega reverted each other's edits 5 times total. - Drilly the Hedgehog 01:30, 2 November 2015 (EST)
- That was two months ago Drilly, if I remember correctly, people have already called them out on it. Correct me if I'm wrong though. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:32, 2 November 2015 (EST)
- As I said the last time you asked, read the talk page. Miles (talk) 01:34, 2 November 2015 (EST)

Question
My edits keep getting reverted or changed back to mostly the same thing for no apparent reason. This happened most recently on the Ganondorf page and the Sonic page. I previously asked for a compromise when it came to the Roy page, and you responded by making the neutral tone guide. I have followed this guide and my edits continue to get reverted. In my edits, I have also tried to cut back on extraneous information, awkward wording, redundancy, and run-on sentences. I feel that my changes have been making the wiki pages more encyclopedic than they were before my revisions. I stress the fact that I do not care about having "my version" of the page displayed, just one that is more encyclopedic. I have tried to settle these problems either by posting on talk pages or saying I'd be happy to explain the reasoning behind my edits. However, none of these efforts seem to be working. What will be done about this situation? John PK SMAAAASH!! 17:02, 2 November 2015 (EST)
- Take it to a relevant talk page. While my impression is that yes, your edits are improving the pages, reaching talk page consensus to that effect is a way to demonstrate agreement of multiple users and make it seem like less of a "my version versus their version" kind of thing. Miles (talk) 17:26, 2 November 2015 (EST)
