The Mysterious Murasame Castle universe (謎の村雨城, The Mysterious Murasame Castle) refers to the characters, stages and property that come from the Famicom game of the same name.

Franchise description

The game was one of the early games released for the Family Computer Disk System, and the second original title after The Legend of Zelda. Originally, the game was a Japan-only release for the Famicom. However, over 28 years after original release, the game was re-released worldwide through Virtual Console on the Nintendo 3DS.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

One of the music tracks from the game, titled Douchuumen (Nazo no Murasamejo) plays in the Mario Bros. stage. Takamaru appears as a sticker.

In Super Smash Bros. 4

In Smash 4, the universe is represented by an Assist Trophy, a corresponding trophy, and a music track (the latter of which only appears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U).

Assist Trophy

  • Takamaru: The main character of the universe, who attacks with his katana and Windmill Swords.
