Bowser?

While a Bowser amiibo figurine hasn't been shown physically yet, gameplay in the trailer shows Bowser with the "FP" marker floating above him, which is indicative of an amiibo character. Here's a direct link- http://youtu.be/odUjMhc6YgU?t=2m22s

I think this might be worth mentioning somewhere. - Burb

Multiple Amiibo fights?

We know they will happen, but how? It at least appears that only one figurine can connect to the game pad at a time, and the 3ds extension can only hold one, so how will more than one fight, could you press it on, take it off, press another one on and take it off, then do the same after the fight to save? How will this work? 98.112.97.173 16:40, 24 June 2014 (EDT)

About Training

So will there be a way to get your Amiibo out of "training mode" so it doesn't learn your friend's moves when battling a friend

Compatability

Do you think we should do a chart for which Amiibos work with which games? Guybrush20X6 (talk) 08:48, 7 November 2014 (EST)

It's a tough call. It wouldn't be that difficult to do at this point given how few games are amiibo compatible, but it could get rather unwieldy in the future (especially for characters like Mario and Link). Miles (talk) 09:33, 7 November 2014 (EST)
amiibos by themselves aren't really a Smash Bros. property - yeah, all the ones we have so far are Smashers in their SSB4 artwork pose, but I expect in future to see ones for other characters. So I don't think it's in our scope to even list amiibos that don't work with a Smash Bros. game. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Obfuscating 13:11, 7 November 2014 (EST)

Wave 4

According to MarioWiki, certain characters (Mega Man, Sonic, and Shulk, as well as Dedede and Meta Knight outside of Japan) listed here as part of Wave 3 are actually Wave 4. Can someone check this? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 21:56, 11 November 2014 (EST)

According to IGN, Shulk, Mega Man, and Sonic will be released in February 2015, whereas the rest will be released in January. I'm not exactly sure if it's "wave 4", because each wave contains about 10 amiibo figures and this only contains 3, but do what you want with that information. Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect! 22:06, 11 November 2014 (EST)
I'd go by the Japanese order of release, with all 10 being released in January (Even though we're not a Japanese wiki we should use this order since they're not region locked). Laikue (talk | contribs) 22:11, 11 November 2014 (EST)
All amiibo release in February in America; the dates I'm describing above is for Japan, not America, so, according to IGN, not all amiibo will release in Japan in January. I may be wrong, though; I don't know how reliable IGN is, so… Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect! 22:18, 11 November 2014 (EST)

I don't see why they'd discontinue them. Either way, it's a rumor. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 20:22, 6 December 2014 (EST)

Damage multiplier at Lv. 50

Should there be more details of the boosts to damage and anything else that amiibos get at Lv. 50, like 1.5x to attack? It seems like it's an important aspect of training them. 70.48.100.134 22:37, 7 December 2014 (EST)

I own two amiibo, and it seems like they don't gain any physical boosts until you feed them equipment or change their specials. The Arnge GreenMega.jpg I'm no rubble monkey! 22:43, 9 December 2014 (EST)

There have apparently been various tests done on SmashBoards that show that even amiibos who are not fed any equipment or customized still get boosts to its stats when it reaches higher levels like here. 70.55.34.236 23:31, 10 December 2014 (EST)

Notability of defects

While I think the dual-cannon Samus is notable, I don't really think any of the subsequent defects are, as they're really just running off the hype the Samus generated instead of their own. I think we should trim it down to something like "This sparked several more auctions on other amiibo with various defects". Toomai Glittershine ??? The Riotous 22:23, 9 December 2014 (EST)

I agree. The amount of amiibo defects is bound to increase. As they are included, I can see the page becoming overly clogged with specific amiibos that all have their defects. The Arnge GreenMega.jpg I'm no rubble monkey! 22:29, 9 December 2014 (EST)
So, is it good to edit the page now that the topic has technically been discussed? Or do we need more users' approval? The Arnge GreenMega.jpg I'm no rubble monkey! 22:40, 9 December 2014 (EST)
I say we do edit it, but we at least make links to pages about other defective amiibos. AidanzapunkSig.jpgBlueStreak 07:22, 10 December 2014 (EST)

Capitalisation

Wikipedia doesn't follow Nintendo's lowercase "a" stylisation; I think we should have the same courtesy. Plus, SmashWiki is not official. RickTommy 18:18, 16 December 2014 (EST)

Wikipedia has different standards in terms of stylizing. Also, Nintendo official sources as well as fan usage fairly universally use the all-lowercase format. Miles (talk) 18:29, 16 December 2014 (EST)

Wave 2 Release

I haven't seen them yet (or at least Captain Falcon), and I checked the websites for ToysRUs, Target, Amazon, and Best Buy today, and heard that Pit, Captain Falcon, and Pit were delayed. Are we sure all of them are out yet? 72.152.70.243 18:24, 18 December 2014 (EST)

Never mind, Target has them. Guess I just checked at the wrong time. 107.77.90.126 15:55, 19 December 2014 (EST)

Defective amiibo Trivia

Ok, that one trivia point by itself is definititely worth a section, or a list in the trivia point (like, "blah blah blah defective amiibo crap", then "other defective amiibo include" and then put a bullet point list with all the links). Because that shit is getting ridiculous. AidanzapunkSig.jpgBlueStreak Speeds By 18:23, 31 December 2014 (EST)

The issue is that it's really one news story that got a lot of press and a bunch of smaller ones that were piggybacking on the first. We really don't need to cover every factory defect, honestly, so it's hard to find a good middle ground. Miles (talk) 18:30, 31 December 2014 (EST)

Is this notable?

According to this video, someone managed to hack amiibo to simulate the scanning of unreleased amiibo, in this case being Duck Hunt. Is this notable enough to add to the article? Awesomelink234 PK FLASHBOMB! 10:16, 2 January 2015 (EST)

European release date Wave 3

"Wave 4" is Wave 5

The Super Mario amiibo is technically Wave 4. Though it is the fourth wave of specifically SSB amiibo, but you may want to mention somewhere that it is the fifth wave overall if you go with that. Personally I think we should add the Super Mario amiibo list, sans Toad, since they work with SSB, and include somewhere in that section "the pack also includes a Toad amiibo, which does not function with Super Smash Bros.". Either way it'd be nice to have a reference to the true fourth wave somewhere. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 12:46, 14 January 2015 (EST)

I disagree, as they are the same amiibo, just with a different model on top. I don't think we need it. As for the difference between Waves 4 and 5, I don't know. Is there somewhere that said this? Laikue (talk | contribs) 13:33, 14 January 2015 (EST)
I wouldn't even put them on this page in the first place, because they're not Smash related. As for the wave number confusion, I...might actually consider the Smash ones wave 5, since they're said to be released in the spring, which is (presumably) after the Mario amiibo release date of 3/20/15 iirc. But that's just me. AidanzapunkSig.jpgBlueStreak Speeds By 14:56, 14 January 2015 (EST)

I think we first need to come to a conclusion as to what to do with non-Smash Bros. amiibo in general - do we list them, do we mention them, or do we ignore them? If we ignore them then we wouldn't count them in the wave numbers; otherwise we might depending on what exactly we do.

Personally, I think we should count them as "Smash Bros. waves 1-4" and "Super Mario wave 1". I also think we should ditch the subsections and make a table, though not until we decide whether we'll be mentioning the non-Smash Bros. ones. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Altruistic 15:02, 14 January 2015 (EST)

Here's what I think.
If it's compatible with Smash, then we list it. If not, then we don't. Simple as that. AidanzapunkSig.jpgBlueStreak Speeds By 15:11, 14 January 2015 (EST)
Doing Super Mario Wave 1 and Smash Wave 1-4 would work, that's what Mariowiki is doing now anyway. Imo it looks better and things should stay relatively consistent across NIWA. Laikue (talk | contribs) 15:26, 14 January 2015 (EST)
lol nothing is consistent across niwa All amiibo compatible with Smash Bros. should be mentioned here, whether they have a Smash Bros. pose or not, with Toad therefore being the only amiibo not required to be mentioned. It would be nice to have them mentioned somewhere, but if we switch over to a table that would be harder. I agree with Smash Bros. Wave 4 and Super Mario Wave 1. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 15:59, 14 January 2015 (EST)
Well according to this, all of the Super Mario amiibos except Toad will be compatible with Super Smash Bros., so I think we should add it. Awesomelink234 PK FLASHBOMB! 08:06, 16 January 2015 (EST)
