Please take a moment to review SW:IMAGE and Help:Image copyright tags. Miles (talk) 10:30, 29 July 2014 (EDT)

I do not understand what I did wrong. ToxicOJ 10:35 29 July 2014(EDT)
A few tips, then, to clarify. In general, you should try not to upload blurry or low quality images unless there aren't any better ones available. Additionally, you should check before uploading if a similar image already exists on the site, to avoid redundancy. Finally, be sure to use appropriate image copyright tags when uploading; in the case of game screenshots, this usually means you should use the fair use tag. Miles (talk) 10:38, 29 July 2014 (EDT)
Thank you for that, the images I've been uploading are the best ones I can find, and if I upload an image that's already there and I see it, I remove the one I uploaded. I just started a few days ago, so I don't fully understand tags, so I don't know what they are for. User:ToxicOJ 10:56 29 July 2014 (EDT)
When responding, you should start on a new line and add an additional : to the response. Take a look at the way our responses are formatted for clarification. MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 11:29, 29 July 2014 (EDT)

Thanks ToxicOJ 11:31 29 July 2014 (EDT)

Please remember to apply license information when you upload so it doesn't have to be added in afterwards. You can find a drop-down box under the "Insert common text" box when you upload a file. This will allow you to select the proper license for the file, and it will then be added in automatically when the file is uploaded. Thanks! Berrenta (talk) 15:08, 29 July 2014 (EDT)

I do not understand what licenses are for, or what they do. Can you please explain that? ToxicOJ 16:35 29 July 2014 (EDT)

Licenses are required, as they indicate whether the images are copyrighted or from public domain. Also, please, try adding them when you upload so we don't have to add them for you.
Finally, to upload a new version of an image, go to the file page of the image in question, then click on upload new version. Berrenta (talk) 16:58, 29 July 2014 (EDT)

How to you add them correctly? ToxicOJ 20:28 30 July 2014 (EDT)

You can add templates such as {{fairuse}} and {{PD}} on the licensing section of the file page. User fairuse for things that are copyrighted and use PD on things that are not so copyrighted by Nintendo and the like. Dots (talk) Link OoT Dots.PNG The Pikachu 00:12, 31 July 2014 (EDT)

NIWA News

Please don't add SSB4 to the NIWA news template. First of all, we already have a countdown showing the release, making it redundant. Second, the template is for games that are part of one of the representative series, not the Smash series itself. Thanks! Berrenta (talk) 20:20, 16 August 2014 (EDT)

Also, when someone reverts you, don't try to re-add that info. It would be considered a violation of SW:1RV. ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is bad for me 20:22, 16 August 2014 (EDT)

Editing userspace under red status

I noticed you made several edits in a row to your userspace while SmashWiki is under red status. A lot of those edits could be easily avoided if you used the Preview button. It's next to Save Changes. Use that instead, so you won't clog Recent Changes. Also, use caution while editing your userspace under Red or Yellow wikistatus. Overdoing it without contributing to the mainspace, especially when the wiki is under those statuses, may result in probation. Berrenta (talk) 09:56, 2 September 2014 (EDT)

I don't understand how editing my wiki page could be a problem. ToxicOJ (talk) 09:59, 2 September 2014 (EDT)

You might need to look at how wikistatus works. Red status means the mainspace really needs help. With the game coming in just 2 weeks in Japan, the status will worsen then. Berrenta (talk) 10:05, 2 September 2014 (EDT)

Ok, thank youToxicOJ (talk) 10:06, 2 September 2014 (EDT)
