Super Smash Bros. (tentative title), is the upcoming fourth game in the Super Smash Bros. series. The game was confirmed at E3 2011 in June for the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U.
Current Information
Presently, only information about the development date has been officially confirmed: Sakurai has said that development will potentially begin in October, or at the very least, after he has finished development for the game Kid Icarus: Uprising.[1]
Sakurai has stated, in response to a fan asking him about whether a "child Link" would appear in the game, that he has not currently decided on who would appear in the game. Sakurai however, has also said that he "can't say that it's entirely out of the realm of possibility that some Capcom character could appear in the next Smash Bros." [2]
Rumors
Many rumors have spread concerning the game, all of which are false. A notable one claimed that the game would be called "Super Smash Bros. Universe.", and have 3DS and Wii U connection. The rumor also said that there would be no new EarthBound or F-Zero characters. It was revealed that this rumor, while false, had come from a official source, but only to recruit people towards the game's development.[3]
