Forum:Template proposal
Wasn't really sure how to title this, but anyway, I'd like to propose we modify our old Wikipedia-like templates we have and give them a little originality (admit-ably also further differentiating us from Smushwikia).
It's like this; I'm not saying we make every template have rounded corners like all the other NIWA wikis, rather, give templates an image base.
Visual example:
As you might have assumed, best use of this is for navboxes. Infoboxes may have a harder time getting the coding and coloring right.
Now, how exactly do they look in mainspace?
Of course, given font colors, readability is a win or lose.
I'd like to test this on Smashwiki too but I'll need an admin to modify the MediaWiki:Common.css with the following:
.finaldest { background-color: #006400; background-image: url(images/archive/9/98/20110705132637!Finaldestination.jpg); }
For a Melee FD overlay.
I'll be sure to test it out when I can but for the moment, what do you guys think of the idea? HavocReaper 14:17, 23 August 2011 (EDT)
- I highly dislike the concept of using images for backgrounds of areas that include text, so to be honest I don't feel much like helping.
- In terms of making things more differentiated though, I have been doing some messing around offline with minor style changes; the main problem is I can't test anything in real-time without deleting everything that's already active first, so that's why I haven't publicized it. It looks kind of like this. Toomai Glittershine The Jiggy 14:38, 23 August 2011 (EDT)
- I disagree with Toomai, and Support HavocReaper48's idea. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 19:03, 23 August 2011 (EDT)
- Both are good. Blindcolours Damn Sky Runner broke again... 19:31, 23 August 2011 (EDT)
