The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Project M
From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search
Project M is a hack of Super Smash Bros. Brawl designed to make brawl more like melee. The team who is designing Project M was also the same team who worked to design Brawl+.
Universal Changes
- Melee Air Dodge: Also known as MAD. The melee air dodge system in other words is used for project M.
- Manual L-Canceling: It is now required, similar to melee and smash 64, to use L, R, or Z to cancel lag of aerials. This was one of the more controversial decisions of Project M as many smashers believe that by having an automatic lag cancel system, it reduces unnecessary tech skill.
- Dash Dancing: Changed back to Melee physics
- Crouch Canceling: Re-added from smash 64/melee.
- Down-smash While Holding Down: In Brawl, if you try to d-smash while crouching, it leads to a down tilt. This was reverted
- Ledge-Tech: Being able to Ledge Tech is now back
- Edge-cancel: The useful melee/smash 64 technique to be able to do an aerial (or a recovery) onto the edge of a platform to cancel the ending lag
- Jump-Cancel Grabs
- Powershield: Powershields now properly reflect projectiles back at opponents instead of random directions
- Taunt Canceling: From smash 64, is similar to the physics of edge-canceling, for example, Your-Your-Your-Your-Your too slow.
- Melee Shield-stun
- You can't Autosweetspot Ledges
- Tech Window
- Hitlag Modifier: Moves have changes hit
- Momentum Capture
- Shield During Dash Dance: Self-explained
- Dash Cancel: You can dash and then be able to crouch quickly and do another move, makes it so pivoting among other techniques is easier.
- No Stale Moves: Moves deal the same amount of damage/knockback every time
- Other changes involve changing back characters to melee style, an example is Falco's shine which is now the same as it was in Melee
- Melee style Brawl characters
- Extra stages (such as n64 and sub-space stages)
