From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.
The Rules, Briefly
- You can only vote once.
- Vote under the name of the fighter you are voting for.
- When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted for that fighter, or you can just leave your signature.
- ALWAYS put # when you vote so it can help us count the votes!!
- ALWAYS put in your signature with ~~~~. This is required whether you have an account or not.
- Any comments about the fight should be left in the comments sections.
- If you wish to leave a comment in more than one section, do not edit each section individually.
- Don't leave a space between your post and the posts above and below yours.
- Place your vote in accordance to the signs stating "DO NOT POST BELOW THIS LINE" and such.
Impending Rules Change
The recent influx of users has raised the voting population considerably. However, this leads to more votes that are improperly added, despite the rules being in plain sight; and there is no consequence for doing so, leaving those users unlikely to do it right next time.
Therefore, starting Round 61, any vote that is incorrectly added (no # used, not signed with ~~~~, placed in ignorance of the "DO NOT POST BELOW THIS LINE" signs) will be worth half its regular value, unless the original voter catches their mistake and corrects it before someone else does.
In the Smash Arena's early days, the rule was that any unsigned post was worth zero. This rule change is not as strict but nevertheless provides incentive to follow what is, after all, a rule across the entire wiki (specifically SW:SIGN; other vote errors aren't against any wiki rules but are still against Smash Arena rules).
Unless a significant majority of the voting population disagrees with this new rule (if you disagree, post in the comment section of the current fight), this rule change will begin Round 61.

Two Final Smashes involving mass numbers of minions are the subject of this round! One army fights for justice, while the other fights for...uh, whatever the fat penguin wants to at the time. But that doesn't make them any less formidable! It's the two armies (and possibly their leaders) against each other in the first clash of the '60s.

Votes for Waddle Dee Army
- Hehe, Paletuna. He. DDD deserves the win.--MegaTron1XD 20:03, 12 November 2010 (EST)
- Gordos beat Paletuna's (hehe) Army anyday. Plus Waddle Dees are the cutest enemies EVER!! --Landfish7 20:24, 12 November 2010 (EST)
- You can have MY BIG GAY DANCE!-Ivy73 20:58, 12 November 2010 (EST)
- DEDEDEDEDEDEDEDE!!!! His Final Smash can actually KO stuff, not just do damage. 66.92.144.145 08:52, 13 November 2010 (EST)
- Waddle dees are cuter and don't die after one hit. WalruWiz 9:12, 13 November (GMT)
- While I find the other final smash to be more effective, I find Waddle Dee Army and Dedede's little dance to be more entertaining. Thus, I like this final smash more. Garo108 12:27, 13 November 2010 (EST)
- I'm gonna vote for Waddle Dee Army because it's not so predictable and Dedede is invincible while doing this and it doesn't have so much beginning lag as the Paulatina army or whatever (Sorry I don't use idems, I play Brawl competitively). Doc King (talk) 13:15, 13 November 2010 (EST)
- Dedede is one of my favorite characters! (no, I'm not Japulley). Mr. Anon (talk) 15:07, 13 November 2010 (EST)
- Gordos and waddle doo's can puncture there wings and zap them to the ground!Mesuxelf (talk) 10:41, 14 November 2010 (EST)
- They are just so much better. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 11:25, 14 November 2010 (EST)
- Ah, the "Big Gay Dance". I've had so much fun annoying my friends with this Final Smash. Who cares if Palutena's Army does more damage? Since non-competitive Brawl is meant to be fun, the greatest measure of a Final Smash is just how fun it is, and King Dedede scores a perfect 10. Reflex (talk) 13:28, 14 November 2010 (EST)
- Palutena's centurions are exceedingly easy to dodge and to kill. Dedede's minions are at least fairly effective at racking up some damage.74.137.130.65 16:20, 14 November 2010 (EST)
- Why, what Ivy and Reflex said explains it all.Vincent Tran 00:25, 15 November 2010 (EST)
- I do this because I hate Pit. Welikeikeandfoxes (talk) 01:49, 15 November 2010 (EST)
- Waddle Dee wants to win! Besides, Pit's Final Smash, you can dodge the contracts really easilly. AND YES, I CALL THEM CONTRACTS!!!
- King DDD's smash is very hard to avoid and is cool.Yoshi (talk) 20:33, 16 November 2010 (EST)Yoshi
- Gordos RAWK! ~Empoleon6217
- GORDOS RAWK!!!!!!!! ~ color:red Mechacolor:blackShadow
- Dedede's a penguin? 24.96.57.124 16:57, 18 November 2010 (EST)
- It's good enough to be an Internet Meme, also it can actually kill with Gordos. Palutena'a army is just useful for gimping.T.testLP (talk) 02:00, 19 November 2010 (EST)
- The Dee's and Doo's are so cute --87.56.200.36 16:53, 19 November 2010 (EST)

Votes for Palutena's Army
- Palutena's Army has done plently more for me than dedede's army. while dedede is a better character than pit in my book, pit has the better final smash.
- While Dedede's final smash is awesome, I find Palutena's Army to be much more effective in KOing. 110.174.90.69 20:34, 12 November 2010 (EST)
- Palutena is a goddess and King DDD is a penguin. The better the commander, the better the army. It's no contest
- King Dedede is a fat loser. His army? Even failier. 24.164.143.141 21:20, 12 November 2010 (EST)
- It's honestly a cooler, better final smash. Go Palutena's Army! GormanLuigi (talk) 09:42, 13 November 2010 (EST)
- I think Palutena is a better final smash, sure King Dedede, is a good character, but It's actually pretty easy to dodge King Dedede's final smash, so I vote for Pit's final smash. My name is SpicyFlareon (talk) 12:14, 13 November 2010 (EST)
- Seriously, Pit can still move and attack during Palutena's Army, and any ways, Waddle dees SUCK in Kirby games! Dr. PikaLinkSmash (talk) 18:33, 13 November 2010 (EST)
- Great Palutena victory shall be ours, lawl
- Palutenas army can kill those fat little waddle dees
- pit kicks but!!!
- Damn! Missed one fight; almost missed two. Anyway, These seem to have way more voters now that we're all moved. So, Hooray!!! Doctor Pain 99 (CTE) 20:39, 16 November 2010 (EST)
- Victory is ours. --HavocReaper'48 20:55, 16 November 2010 (EST)

It seems that the Waddle Dee army votes are mostly made up of users that have been here for a while, while the other side is entirely made up of new users. This is just an observation. I'm not trying to suggest that one side is better or anything. Mr. Anon (talk) 19:57, 15 November 2010 (EST)
Well, I'm guessing that new people would be more attracted to Pit due to most of his spammable attacks, just saying. Welikeikeandfoxes (talk) 11:39, 16 November 2010 (EST)
- Lol pretty good comment! It is true that a lot of amatuer players are very attracted into Pits spammable attacks and stuff. Doc King (talk) 21:28, 16 November 2010 (EST)

Winner!! Pikachu

It's the two Pokémon that have been Smashers from the beginning - they're both short lightweight creatures with a penchant for saying their own names and not much else. Which one of the two will win this particular battle?

Votes for Pikachu
- Pikachu has a good punishing move, decent recovery, spammable projectile, several quick moves, and such. I have not been a fan of Pikachu from the series, but I choose it because Jigglypuff simply isn't good to me. Jigglypuff may have amazing recovery, but lacks several other things. I can single f-smash a Jigglypuff to punish it because, lets be honest, a d-tilt is inaccurate, dair is likely to miss, a fair can lead to punishment and a gimp kill, and the like.--MegaTron1XD 10:22, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- Sorry Jiggs, but I've always had a spot in my heart for Pikachu. Reflex (talk) 18:30, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- Um, I believe that it was called "I choose you, PIKACHU!!" not Jigglypuff. Even though we guys like things that are jiggly, we like little electric mice more.Welikeikeandfoxes (talk) 18:32, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- All Pikahu has to do is impale Jigglypuff with its sharp tail then Jigglypuff won't be able to inflate again. 110.174.90.69 00:54, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- I must say that EVERYONE thinks pikachu is cute, and besides, I'm much worse with Pikachu than Jigglypuff :P.--Vincent Tran 01:37, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- How could I not choose the legend that is Pikachu?! GormanLuigi (talk) 09:24, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- I really don't think that Jigglypuff is the best fighter. Some of her moves are pretty useless. Sorry, Jigg-saw, but it's Pikachu. User:Smash-jay
- Jiggly is a good brawler, but Pikachu is beast for me. I'll always remember my first Pikachu capture. --DiscoPichu (talk) 12:18, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- God, I hate Jigglypuff. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 14:21, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- PIKAAA- PII!!! (Pikachu's awesome!!!) Dr.PikaLinkSmash (talk) 14:47, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- Pikachu is more hyper. Hyper beats sleeping.
- Jigglypuff has good moves, but Pikachu is an awesome character. Pikachu definitely will win
- a jiggly jigglypuff vs the pika pikachu? sorry, jigglypuff, but pikachu is more awesome. ~'Lucasthefourth~
- Don't like either pokemon, but I dislike Jigglypuff more. 108.96.40.194 08:08, 7 November 2010 (EST)
- Jiggs is an air-centered character, pikachu is anti air if you ask me, besides he's anelectric mouse, not a marshmallowScoobford (talk) 09:52, 8 November 2010 (EST)
- pickachu's upper cut pwns jigglypuff's roll
- Pikachu > Jigglypuff. ~TDWTS~
- I'm gonna have to vote for pikachu just because I can actually use him, and I just can't use jigglypuff. 'nuff said Fuddlebob (talk) 16:03, 10 November 2010 (EST)
- I have to go with Pikachu on this one because can stay around the fight longer than Jigglypuff. ~MechaSwool~ 17:12, 10 November 2010 (CST)
- Pikachu: The God mouse pokemon. ~Pika Pika~ 8:03, 11 November 2010 (EST)
- Pikachu is one awesome lightning spammer.--JeKartaN1 (talk) 11:36, 12 November 2010 (EST)

Votes for Jigglypuff
- Jigglypuff is my second best character (behind Lucas), and her air game is so fun. She's so underrated! She also makes a kick-arse t-shirt... But I still like you Pikachu, heh.
- Jiggly!Mr. Anon (talk) 19:58, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- It was a tough decision, but Jiggs would DESTROY!!!!! Pikachu.-Ivy73 20:26, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- Though I am better with Piki than Jiggly... Jigglypuff is the MANLIEST character in Brawl. Nuff said. --HavocReaper'48 21:54, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- Jiggaboo is the ultimate Pokemon evar. The power of the SONG! ***Super!~Nickno 22:11, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
- Jiiiigaaahhllyyy PUFFFFFF!!!! It's funny, seeing as I also main with Lucas and second with jigglypuff, like the first person up there. Go Jiggly!
- Jiggz can kill people by going to sleep.
- Jigglypuff's REAL name is JigglyBUFF. Pikachu's REAL name is PikaSHOE, as in what will soon be in Pikachu's face! Mesuxelf (talk) 15:11, 9 November 2010 (EST)
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkF4KuDiRRs&feature=related Doc King (talk) 21:03, 9 November 2010 (EST)
- With the Puff Up Glitch, Jiggly will rule the day!
- People underestimate Jigglypuff but she's actually a pretty good character, It's funny when she slaps people. xD SpicyFlareon (talk) 18:56, 11 November 2010 (EST)
- JigglyPuff is just a tad bit cooler than Pikachu

Just wondering, Toomai, when is my suggestion of Giga Bowser vs Master Hand going to be put in? Mr. Anon (talk) 19:59, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- I don't remember a Giga Bowser vs. Master Hand, but I do remember a Giga Bowser vs. Crazy Hand...I try to keep the queue secret to maintain intrigue, but generally matchups that are more off-the-wall are put in rounds that are a multiple of 5, or special numbers. The queue is currently set up to 72. Toomai Glittershine 20:17, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
- Sorry about that. Mr. Anon (talk) 20:21, 5 November 2010 (EDT)
I have a question, do we just edit this to vote?
- Basically, yes. You have to sign your posts using ~~~~ btw.--MegaTron1XD 18:41, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
Toomai, do you decide the matches (as in who vs. who?) Mesuxelf (talk) 15:13, 9 November 2010 (EST)
- In a way. I take suggestions from this page and use the community's reaction to gage what to choose; in the end it's my decision, so I can also put up unsuggested bouts and the like. Suggestions are currently closed because I have a bunch already lined up. Toomai Glittershine 15:45, 9 November 2010 (EST)
- Just wondering, why do you never vote on fights, Toomai? You should. Since you're pretty much SW's leader at this point, it would be nice to see your opinion on battles. Mr. Anon (talk) 21:06, 9 November 2010 (EST)
- Hey look! Toomai voted for X. I better vote for X too to make him like me and pick my fights!--MegaTron1XD 22:09, 9 November 2010 (EST)
- As the operator I feel that being neutral is the best course of action, as well as the fact that for the vast majority of matchups I don't have a preference either way. Toomai Glittershine 22:11, 9 November 2010 (EST)
- I see. Although in the case of a tie, I believe you should be the tie breaker. Mr. Anon (talk) 00:28, 11 November 2010 (EST)
- I can guarentee ties won't happen. Even if there is, if you wait a week, the tie will no longer exist because of new voters.--MegaTron1XD 00:33, 11 November 2010 (EST)
Oh no, it's Friday D:. *Final Hour theme from MM plays*. Quick, people, vote for Jigglypuff before it's too late! Mr. Anon (talk) 13:03, 12 November 2010 (EST)
