Young Link was a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Young Link's model was based on the child Link model from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. This character is nearly identical to Link. There are a few noticeable differences including his weight, size, speed and special moves. Young Link uses fire arrows instead of regular arrows and he wields a wooden shield (The Deku Shield from Ocarina of Time) instead of a Hylian shield. It is unknown if he will return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Though it's rumored that he'll be replaced with Cel-Shaded Link from Wind Waker, his name will still be Young Link.
