Forum:Uh... Peach?
Okay, seriously. I need someone to tell me why people won't shut up about Peach. What the hell is so special about her? She's not that good! Not in Melee, and definitely not in Brawl! So she can float... whoop-de-freakin'-do! She can't do vertical recoveries! Let's face it, if your light, weak, and you can't gain any height, you shouldn't be anywhere near the top tier. I'm hoping in the Brawl tier list that the professionals won't make the mistake of placing her there again. PEACH SUCKS! It's about time someone said it! - GalaxiaD 01:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
I agree 100%. About the only thing she has going for her is her floating, which is predictable anyway. I have no idea why she was top tier in Melee. Theres really nothing good about her at all. I hope in Brawl that shes not top tier again. Not to mention the fact that I just hate Peach anyway. Meta Knight and Pit sound more like top tier material to me. --Danbatista 02:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say she SUCKS, but she does seem to have more...ahem...whiny fanboys than most characters... - Gargomon251 03:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Even though I think Peach is bad, some players are really good with her. Also, I won't put down any more characters (such as Peach), as it tends to lead to people whining. --Danbatista 05:23, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
You're right. We definitely don't need any more whining than what has already occured. I also agree with you on Meta Knight and Pit being the top two. They're relatively fast, they both glide, they both have great recovery ability, etc. Overall, Meta Knight and Pit have the greatest potential. - GalaxiaD 05:49, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Well what About Marth or King Dedede? They both are quite good; Marth has an impressive dash, his Counter last quite some time, and he has a wide move set. King Dedede has some of the strongest smash moves, and sure their slow, but think, with the use of items that problem is (Pretty much) fixed. And Besides, he's really tough to KO, Period. And I think the only reason Peach was good was on certain stages, it gave her the advantage. Some of these stages were Mute City to dodge vehicles, or Icicle Mountain to keep from falling behind. The only other good thing about her floaty ability is she can get some horazontal distance, but with her weight anyways, your probrably not going to be able to use it anyways. Marth will definitely be a high tier character, but he might come just a little short of qualifying for top tier. Also, King Dedede may be a very strong character, but in tournaments, he will have no items to help him, therefore making him vulnerable to comboes. His ability to jump four times in the air, however, does come in handy, so he'll definitely be in the middle tier. Peach, on the other hand, should be placed in the low or bottom tier. In tournaments, Icicle Mountain is banned, so that eliminates one of her advantages. Also, in Brawl, the very few strong attacks she had have been nerfed, especially her down smash. Basically, the people who make tiers need to focus more on the actual metagame of the characters, not their specific stage advantages. It's not guaranteed that the character's best stage will be picked, but said character's metagame is a constant factor. It's more about skill, not luck, so stages shouldn't be considered when forming a tier list. - GalaxiaD 00:00, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Rather than listing your negative opinions of the character and speaking of other characters in the same article that is dedicated to Peach, without attempting to make any comparrison at all, why don't we look at the overwhelming pro's that she has as a player. ((I don't have much time to be typing, I'm in school.)) She has by far the best moves to avoid hammers, such as by jumping off the side of the level, stalling in mid air by using her dress to float, and then instantly recovering to her starting height with her up-B umbrella to casually float back to the stage where she can easily recover. Also note all of that can be done simply by double jumping while above the stage. Her umbrella/float combo is the best in the game (besides for possibly kirby) for dodging the overpowered landmasters by simply floating underneath final destination and then recovering with the umbrella. So in any type of casual play she's pretty much a very good sudden-situation-change character. In higher professional play her neutral-B can be used to throw off most combos and still has a decent knock-back. Her side-B can be used to multicombo in midair to recover to the map. I'm not sure but it also might put players in a state of helplessness. The vegetable toss is always fun for comboing. Her umbrella has the ability to stop Link's down-B (Coffin)and hit multiple times as an attack. her side smashes are decent while her down smash, while being very limited, is if I'm not mistaken, a very decent spike. Appologies for the lack of order, but I need to address one more complaint of Peach, done on the page of Tier lists, posted by Runer5h. "Conversely, Peach and Zamus would go down, as they can never KO with their FSs. EVER. (Except on scrolling stages, when you fall asleep from Peach Blossom and scroll off to your death.)" Excluding the entire part about Samus, who is not only spelt wrong but also given a lack of credit for her decent FS, Peach's FS is one of the greatest for KO'ing opponents. Even after taking the time to gather the healing peaches, one can return with Peach with a capsule in hand (or other throwing item) to deal massive knockback on the sleeping foes. So now that I just healed my sixty or so damage and KO'd a player at around 40 damage, is her FS worthy of your arrogant approval? I could even go with just the healing effects and then the powerful smash attack.
Err, correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't Zamus refer to Zero suit samus?
((Either way I've got to go. Please, for future refrence, attempt to stay on subject and rather than bash characters, compliment them.)) -FlagLapelOnMyChest —Preceding unsigned comment added by FlagLapelOnMyChest (talk • contribs) 14:22, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
So, because you don't like her she shouldn't be high tier? Her smash down kick ass, her floating ability too. So before you do a comment, see some good Peach players, that use the REAL potential of Peach. Here is an example: [1] --Jigglypuff is God 14:40, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Its funto make her float and she is todly hot and please watch ur languge-71.169.52.216 15:38, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
she is not my personal favorite but some people are really good with her, just like any other character, some people hate them because of their own reasons but other people love them, the tier doesnt matter, ive had my but kicked many times by jigglypuff lol, and to whoever posted before me... that is slightly disturbing, i think you might need a girlfreind. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.180.249.82 (talk • contribs) 18:16, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Whoever said I was bashing her? Honestly, you people think that I have some kind of grudge against Peach. I DON'T! While there may be many professionals who main Peach and use her well, I think she has a lot of disadvantages that should also be exploited. I saw this Brawl Talk as a chance to share my opinions with everybody, and it was a pleasure to see the first few people who responded agree with me. But seriously, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST PEACH!!! If you play a few rounds as her, you'll know what disadvantages I'm talking about. You're all too quick to correct. And 71.169.52.216, we're no longer in preschool. I think we can say whatever the HELL we want now. - GalaxiaD 21:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Thats not the point, we are not the only ones who come here, some smaller kids might find their way here, and use some of the new language your teaching them. Number 2, it really isn't polite to talk like that, and I'm almost 15. Learner4 23:20, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
