Gale Stab (疾風突き), also known as Slash Launcher (ランチャースラッシュ, Launcher Slash) and Surging Slash in the NTSC and PAL versions of Super Smash Bros. 4 respectively, is one of three side special moves for the Mii Swordfighter.

Overview

When used, the Mii begins charging. Once the move is released, the Swordfighter lunges forward, striking any enemies with their sword. The move functions very similar to Ike's custom move Close Combat.

As Gale Stab in Ultimate, the move's animation is changed from a sword slash to a lunging stab. Compared to its previous counterpart, it now starts faster, allowing for an aerial burst option that can beat out predicable approaches, and deals more damage at full charge, though it now slows down towards its conclusion, slightly decreasing its effective range. Prior to patch 12.0.0, it could also fail to grab ledges if the move hit an opponent before doing so, making its recovery exploitable.
